Erm....ive got Internet Explorer and Norton, nothing out of the ordinary. I can still access the forum i guess its just if other people have the same problem they wont know how to get to the forum.

EDIT: I just clicked it and when i got to http://www.rosesofvelvet.com/joomla/index.php the page now shows up with the menu and stuff

EDIT 2: Tried again and it didnt work, its kinda hit and miss, at least i can use the direct link to the forum if i need to go there

try temporarily disabling Norton AV and Internet Worm Protection and see if that solves your problem.  After working customer service for a few ISPs, I've found that Norton can be quite the bitch when surfing the web.

By saying that you put a negative spin on the board and make up people's minds before they even look then you get a snowball effect,.. if someone is inviting twenty people you don't get personal invites you get one copied twenty times ;)

Its never Intended to be spam If i see a poster that i like and i think has a good attitude i just simply invite them.. i never ask anyone more then once and theres only been a handful of posters ive invited!

Well, considering the fact that you are a member of thenewguns, who are notorious for hating me, I'm sure there was some sort of "fun" involved. No one at ROV would ever ask anyone from that site to join. Next time you want to accuse me or one of my friends there of "spamming", sign up under a name that isn't affiliated with thenewguns. It might make your little story a bit more believable.

hello fellow gunners!  i have decided as soon as i post and private message this speech sorta thing, (because i'm sure this 'uncensored' board will delete my post, or reword it or some other garbage), i am leaving this god forsaken forum.

in the begining, when there were just a hand full of members here, it was great!  everyone here seemed to get along just fine, but when Mr. James Lofton (29) joined the forum, there were basically instantly some tension between him and i from past forums, and he 'promised' he'd put it all behind him.  WRONG!

a couple days later someone requested 2 RELEASED songs, one was Get In The Ring from Use Your Illusion II and the other was a video of November Rain which was released on Welcome to the Videos.  knowing these songs were released, i told the guy, KINDLY, that the songs were released, and we would not post links here.  about 10 minutes later, i got this message from James:


'Dont ever be a smart ass like that to a member here. We're trying to get as many new members here as we can, and you thinking you're a God because you're a moderator is not helping things at all. Lose the fucking attitude. Or go be a moderator somewhere else that embraces that "holier than thou" attitude.'

look who's talking!  you think you're a forum GOD, infact, you're now the vice admin, so i suppose you really ARE holier than thou, now!  and does it really matter how many members a forum has?  mygnr has over 10,000, but that doesn't make it better than thenewguns who don't have anything close to that number.

so i sent a reply to him:

the whole point of this forum was, according to Brody, to get away from Jarmo's harsh rules at Heretodaygonetohell.com.  WELL, in case you haven't noticed, the rules are just as harsh (post a link and you'll get banned.  talk crap about members and you'll get yelled at.  etc. etc. etc.), and at least Jarmo gives you more than one chance to change.

They Logged in and waited for the Global mods to leave so they could try and create havic! They were all banned before they could do much so its all good! Now Brownstone you can go and spread lies about my forum but why do you still try to participate at it? why dont you just let it go that you are not wanted there!

ROV is great.   I gotta hand it to Brody, he's put a lot of time and effort to create a community for those of us who don't like to put up with a lot of the bullshit that's out there on other sites.  My personal favourite feature is the chatroom it makes it unique from other sites out there.  And certainly the mods aren't assholes unless it's entirely necessary.  Our mods don't insist on insulting newbies like the mods at other sites I've visited...

Visited this forum a couple of times, just to see how were the discussions about GN'R, since some of the members there used to be good posters here. Turns out it was a really shitty place. In fact, one of the worse I've seen.

Instead of intelligent discussion, all I saw was posts saying: why this band didn't deserve the Guns N' Roses name, that Axl wasn't a badass rocker anymore, that he's afraid to release an album, how he's lazy, that he is a joke nowadays, that they aren't really excited to see the NYC shows (then why'd they buy the tickets?), how they'd be glad if Fortus quit, bla bla bla... The usual bullshit.

Deleted my account, and decided not to return there again.

Well, I suppose everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

I like to think that our forum is made up of realists... not everyone is in an Axl dreamland.  Some of us look at the realities of situations under a different light, and some of us try to lighten up certain situations.  Everyone gets a fair shake over there.  If you didn't like some of the opinions and views expressed in the forum, why didn't you decide to post how you felt?  We emphasize free speech and uncensorship (within certain limitations of course), and you more than likely wouldn't have been roasted right away.  We respect the opinions of all of our members.  I can't see how you can say it's the worst place you've seen if we hug Axl's nuts.  I mean, there are some people in the world who are like that, ok?  Get over it already.

3)I think he is afraid to release an album.? Look at interviews for the late 90s (RS article) for example.? If he is so bold, he would of released in 99.

If I was to post this on the main board here, I would of been crucified.? Does this mean I don't like NuGNR?? No.? I love the new band and the new songs.? And by proof that I love this new band, I believe they should have their own name.? And not to be compared constantly to the old group.? The people on the main board here are increasingly "hating" on the original band, and "praising" the new band as the "real" GNR.? And it is very disturbing.? It bugs the shit out of me seeing these people slam Slash and Co when they have been upfront about everything since the split.? Axl would never throw his fans a bone so-to-speak.  He chose "silence" as his weapon. 

This is the reason why I enjoy ROV.? It's filled with old school fans and realists who, like myself, have experienced the original GNR, and have respect for the original GNR as well as the "new" GNR.? Because without them, the new GNR would not exist.? I still enjoy HTGTH though, and will still post here.? I still consider HTGTH my online "home".

I'm sure your forum has more than one user who thinks this place sucks. I'm glad they have some other place to hang around at instead of coming here whining about how horrible this place is and how badly we run it.

You can be against big forums and be an alternative, but then when your place grows you either adjust to the majority of the users or you hold to your old principles you had when you started with zero users. Guess which one I picked.

I've lost count on how many forums were started because people were unhappy with how another one was run.

It was simply locked and removed because we dont want that at ROV!

anyways I look at htgth as a forum for everyone.. I look at new guns as forum for those who dislike vr not really into the original gnr but love the new, I look at ROV as people into vr and more into gnr's roots, but will see and enjoy the new band, maybe don't agree about the gnr name still being used and want a reuinion .. So if you aren't into vr, not into the old at all most likely you won't be into rov, but that doesn't mean you can't like both new and old.. There just needs to be a little give and take in both directions,...

Wether reilgion, left wingers or right wingers anything extreme causes problems.. Have an open mind and you'll enjoy..

You made great points in your post, but I'm just gonna quote this part. No one has a problem with some people hating ROV. Hell, every site on the internet has haters. What I dont understand is how you let these same few people spew shit in this thread. It doesn't happen in any of the other threads in this section. This section is basically about promoting various sites, not a section to bitch about the sites. Everyone knows I dont like newguns. Am I in the newguns thread spewing page after page of insults? Of course not. I ocassionally have words with CB, but I wouldnt go into a thread where he is promoting his site and bash it. I dont see why a small group of losers is allowed to pollute this thread. I'm not the one that bitches constantly at every GNR forum about someone. Thats you and a few other dipshits. I have no problem with negative feedback. Like I said, every site has haters. When this site would go down, and me and some of the other HTGTH members would go to mygnr, we had to listen to all kinds of bullshit about this place. My point is that this same little group keeps saying the exact same thing over and over again. Why dont they just quote a previous post of theirs so they dont have to type it again? How many times can someone say they hate me and ROV? Theyre becoming post whores like Skynrd Girl but the only difference is they aren't talking about anal sex. The topic is me.

I have looked at the other threads in this section. None of them compare to the bashing that this one has.

I looked at your site a few times to see what the deal is.

I have no opinion on it. I think it looks clean, which I like but I have no opinion on the content since I haven't visited that often.

Oh and jameslofton, there was a fight between a few people about some bootleg trading site a while back... I also remember people posting negative remarks about other sites here as well. So it does happen.

The site looks cool to me. A "Team/ About" page would be nice though because it's hard to know who's running the site. Good job though.

I didn't sign up under a new name to spew shit, I decided the name I chose could have been taken the wrong way by another person who is a member of this site...I simply changed my name out of respect for that person.  Yeah, you can say what you want but why waste time acting like a little girl?  Now, If you'd like to throw a little comeback at me feel free to do so but I'm finished with this.  Go watch cartoons or something.

Yeah, there is usually a "fight" somewhere on the forum, but the approach is different in this one, which is why I made the comments I made. Normally, you dont allow constant insults. Apparently, when my name is involved, the standards and the rules change. If I went to administration, and posted in one of the threads about mods, and I started saying in post after post that Pandora(just an example) was a loser, bitch, cunt, etc., would you keep on allowing it? I dont think so. Or I was in the GNR section and said shit like Fortus is a fag, and posted the same line continously, you would warn me, delete my posts, and probably ban me.

Anytime I veer off topic I am told to "get back on topic", yet none of the people spewing insults towards me have been told to do that. I have been insulted repeatedly in this thread, and apparently insults are the new fad here.

Brody, Jarmo doesn't "hate" ROV. He wouldn't have put our link on this site if he hated us. What I find odd is how constant insults are being spewed in a thread that Pandora, Will, and Jarmo have posted in and apparently members insulting members is now a good thing to do.

This thread is supposed to be about a website. Its not supposed to be about four people insulting me.

Cmon!! You know you haven't been added to the list! ::) I have always respected you and what you did for the online communities. You know that.I dont see why you have to get sarcastic. Quoting Pandora basically proved my point. She told them to stop, and of course it didnt. The dipshits continued. You read the thread, see their crap, and dont warn them at all. You come into the thread and act like nothing derogatory was even said.That is basically encouraging their behavior.

If insults arent allowed(in the past they weren't), then why are they allowed now? In whatever section I go to, one of these guys follows me and says something. Since you are the admin, and have always done a great job at keeping your eyes on things, you must notice this. But no one says a damn thing. Its the main reason I dont post as much here anymore. Every time I post I get attacked by a few rabid dogs, and real discussion isnt allowed anymore. How can there be a legitimate debate going when attack dogs are on the prowl? back when rules were enforced, all the people that disagreed with each other always had great discussions. Now its just insult after insult.

Use the report to moderator feature next time.

Yeah I noticed that Jarmo, and I appreciate it. Thats why I said you usually have your eyes on the forum. I used the report to moderator feature a couple times during that leak craze, and nothing happened. But the forum was being flooded by noobs at the time, and maybe you missed it.
