Help with reducing file size?

I've got a video that is 220mb that I wanna upload to youtube (which has a 100mb limit).  It is a .mov file and I either need to split it into smaller parts or shrink the file size.

Please help me cause it's driving me mad!  I've been googling for help, but I keep getting links to software I need to buy.

Windows Movie Maker might be able to help, have a fiddle with it.

You should reencode it to avi first (mov will look like shit on youtube), with Media Coder for example, and then either shrink it or split it with VirtualDubMod.

Both programs are free.

If you have Windows XP - buried somewhere on the Start Menu is Windows Movie Maker.

Open Movie Maker -> then select "Import Into Collections" and select the video that you need to shrink the size of.

Drag this video onto the timeline. On the main menu go to File -> Save Movie (might be called Export Movie)

You are then able to set what size you want the video to be in Mb.

Sorry it isnt a detailed guide but the program is self explanatory really, and you might not even have XP.

Thanks for the help guys.  I do have XP but Windows Movie Maker wont accept .mov movies.

I'm gonna give Pandoras stuff a try.
