Title: Will CD give a shout out to HTGTH/Jarmo? Post by: nonlinear on October 30, 2006, 07:36:25 PM I was just sitting here thinking about Axl's comments about the guy in Ireland sitting behind a computer, and I began wondering what percentage of each concert is familiar with HTGTH and other GNR boards. CD will be the first 'real' album GNR has released since the age of the internet, and i'm sure they're aware of the exposure HTGTH has helped to give them. I wonder if there will be a thank you or a shout out to HTGTH or Jarmo in the liner notes of CD. GNR could really use that to capitalize on promotion. what do y'all think?

I was always a fan of GNR but since 2004 when I started reading this site, I have become more then just a fan, this is definitely re-invigorated my interest and introduced me to the new band. So if CD is a mass success, I'm sure this site is one of the reason many of us are still interested and kept up to date with GNR.

I mean almost all of the gnr sites on the internet are crap and have not been updated since around 2000. This site in many ways functioned as an unofficial-offical site for the band for many years and still does to some degree despite the existance of gunsnroses.com. If it had not been for this site, I'm sure a lot of people who have become gnr fans over the past few years would not be as big of gnr fans as they are and many of us who are die hard fans from way back would have given up long ago.

I would still be a fan without this site and others, but the interest certainly wouldn't be what it is without them. I have made friends and others buy GN'R records, listen to bootlegs and convinced them to attend a show. I would say these boards help the band alot, especially one as silent as GN'R. It wouldn't exactly be out of place to thank the board and it's members after all these years. But as always, the man will do as he wish. I started looking at this site in Autumn 2004 and started posting during 2005, that was a pretty baron spell and this was the only place I could actually get any info as to what was happening. It seems they are trying to get closer to the fans lately.yes, I respect Jarmo has been running this site for over a decade in support, and I really admire him for that, but mentioning him personally is going a bit too far now isn't it? It's not like he actually worked on the cd or anything. If anything, it should just say 'to all the GnR fans who stuck by us' or something similar.
