Title: A more serious attempt at singing - feedback appreciated
Post by: EstrangedReality on December 29, 2006, 03:45:36 AM
As some of you may know, last time I made a thread about my singing ages ago, it turned into a joke.

However, I wanted to post a "serious" clip for your judgment. Just, you know, let me know what you think of it and all. I'm curious to see what people think of my singing - for real.

First of all, a lot of people are going to think I'm trying to imitate the "Axl rasp." I'm not. I consider Tom Waits to be an equal influence as a vocalist. I tried to combine his deep, deep rasp with some of Axl's styles, but I'm not trying to directly copy them either. Some people will probably think I sound ridiculous. That's cool.

I didn't even try to hit some of the really high notes in this song. I tried to give it my own style. Just let me know what you think if you get a chance, and thanks.

I may upload one or two others later on, if this goes well. Hopefully it won't turn into a joke again.

I'm one of those people. You not hitting the high notes is not the problem. You being just simply out of tune in many places is.

Tom Waits?? No. Sorry. But no.

That's okay, I appreciate the honesty.
