You can't NOT post here as a GNR fan. At least, that's how I see it. You have to have a presence here.
Favorite band since 6th grade, 1988. Was on the old "Dust N' Bones" mailing list in college, run by Jeff Boerio. That's how old I am. I was on a mailing list. That's like being on a rotary phone. The day of Axl's fax in 1996, I stayed in the college library all day, on the computer.
"Dive in and find the monkey", people.
Did u ever post on the old alt.gnr group?

LOL.....dive in and find the monkey! Read that one again....that is the real beginning of the Chi Dem era. Slash's departure. Axl was talking about a new Gnr album then. It showed up in 2008! Drop dead classic Axl. So, forgive me if I am not going to be lead down the primrose path by album talk by anyone related to Gnr! Axl included. It's all talk. Whatever Slash- Duff- Fernando- the mailman- whoever says is meaningless until either a release date is set, or it just shows up on streaming services like Eminem's album just did.

I read the usenet for a while. There was someone called someone Rosner who posted for years. I remember a Rattus the Rat who was a Slash fan and owned guitars. There's a few other I remember as well. It was an extension on outlook I remember, but it slowly started getting spammed with porn. Shame. When I was in Leeds in the 90s I remember chatting on BBS' and playing muds as well. All seemed quite modern back then

I owe you a thank you Mysteron for the nice things you said about me at another place. Saw a comment you made about Merck. Someday maybe you can explain a few things to me.
Or better left unsaid, one of those fun mysteries in life. I had a really good time.

Oh god no.
For many reasons that's a face to face conversation. I like Merck. He can come back anytime as far as I'm concerned. The only question I have for him is who got you stoned before that one presentation? I betting Robin but if he wants to say he was totally straight, I'll just think he keeps his cool when it's all fucking up around him.

It was a frustrating time, but things move on. The support network around the current management appear to be better, so that is good

Just thought i'd start a thread about the whereabouts of forum members that seems to have gone out of view from here that you miss and why,
I've been here since around 2000-2001 (my 1st registration). Here are a few names from the past that I recall. Hell, all the names I mentioned are from 15-20 years ago! Damn, I am old.
DAVE-GNFNR-2K -- Massively pro-Axl and anti-Slash during THAT era of the band's history. His motto was "this site isn't spelling class", and boy did it show in his posts. Sheesh. Or should I say "sheche".
GNRisSLASH -- Obviously favored Slash during "that" era of GNR history, though as not fanatically anti-Axl if memory serves.
BOOKER FLOYD -- I remember chatting with him a bit.
SLC PUNK -- Seemed like a good guy, and was a regular.
DIZZY -- Not Dizzy Reed, but a member who called himself Dizzy. A stubborn, ball-busting old-schooler who was often downright hilarious.
LATIGO HAMMERS -- Posted here claiming to be Axl Rose, and had a LOT of people on this board believing it! Finally a directive from management came down apprising us all that he was NOT Axl, and for him to immediately cease making the claim!
SUKIE -- Nice lady, moderator. I think she's still listed as a mod, though hasn't visited the site in years.

I remember checking HTGTH around 2001 a lot when I was supposed to be working. Still nip across and see what’s going on once in a while. I’m really hoping for new music this year. It’s always been the best forum IMHO

I'm still here, not that I post a lot, but I've been here since the DC++ times where we used to exchange bootlegs, I remember Spiro from those old days, I got to meet Jarmo on Vegas, I think he was part of the organization for the meet and greet there, I came by and say hello.
I met a few forum members in some shows, I still go to GNR Concerts, try not to miss one, I will be there for the Mexico show and now for the Arlington in Texas =)
Cheers!

I was never a heavy poster, but I've been on here since '06, about the time the CD leaks started making the rounds. I haven't posted much since the NITL tour started, but now that I've got tickets for Indy in August, I'll probably be around a bit more.
I remember a lot of the members from the mid-aughts, some of whom are still around, some who aren't. I used to jump around between here and mygnr, but in the end, this seemed like a much better place to spend time without people screaming at each other for no reason. (Or at least, not as often or as loudly.)
I remember when I first joined up, I got several PMs from people who seemed to think I was actually Duff.

i've been a lurker for years. Don't even log in, really. I was on the boards every day when the first batch of leaks hit and when Axl was just showing up to "chat" on various sites. Not nearly as long as most of you but always have enjoyed this site and the users here. Some other sites throughout the years have been pretty dodgy.
