I don't know if this would ever happen, but it does seem fitting.  Having the original "Guns" N "Roses" would be nice and it would let the whole world in on how everything started.  Starts and ends with "Guns" N "Roses".  I think it would be pretty cool.

+it's not like Tracii was in poison or something ! LA GUNS is badass.

Actually, I believe he was in Poison for a short period of time a few years ago when CC Deville briefly quit the band.

guys the 80's are over. Stop living in the past. we are 20 years later now. Everything has changed.? and didn't? tracii guns say he doesn't like the new GN'R songs he heard? Tracii Guns will never have any answer from Axl.

I'm sorry! But this is too funny! Mr anti-'indus' telling us to stop living in the past and move on!  hihi

It would be awesome if Tracii Guns joined GNR. If they are indeed looking for another guitarist to replace Buckethead, it would be very fitting. Being a founding member of GNR would give the band more legitimacy with the die hard fans of the original band and he is a very capable musician.

Id love to see Traci back...Although i was not around when he was part of the band..it still would be cool to have the co-founder back..And now Axl wouldnt have as much pressure touring under the name Guns N Roses

Personally, I could have seen this working five or six years ago when Axl was just starting to rebuild the band. It would have given older, more traditional fans a new member that they could relate to. And when Axl decided to go with dual lead guitarists, it would have worked even better then. Guns could mostly do solos on the more traditional stuff while Finck or whoever could do solos on the more experimental stuff. I couldn't see it working now though. Mainly, because Guns' primary role for the first album would be emulating Buckethead's playing live. I'm not sure Guns could do that very well. And that's not a knock on him. He's a fine guitarist, and I'd probably listen to an L.A. Guns CD before a Buckethead CD nine times out of ten. But he isn't as technically skilled as Buckethead.

hell yeah of course he would want to join axl because nikki left their brides of destruction band and i guess he knows the only chance he has to be famous again is to try and persuade axl to let him in

but axl is about the future not the past and i will bet my hair that this will never ever happpen.

I would welcome the addition of Traci to the band but really dont see Axl accepting. Outside of Robin and Brain, I had no idea what other material the other new members had even played on or what bands they were from, therefore it does seem obvious that Axl does in fact like bringing in the someone unknown or underground instead of a renowed 80's guitarist. Traci has the appearance Gn'R is or used to be all about, but I think Axl wants to launch his new incarnation of GnR from scratch and no original members.

Perhaps he has the style but sad that he isn't that much talented. Can't see him as a member of new gnr.

Blabbermouth is reporting this story:

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION Guitarist Offers Services To GUNS N' ROSES - Dec. 14, 2004

Former L.A. GUNS and current BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION guitarist Tracii Guns revealed in a recent online posting that he has contacted GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose about possibly joining GN'R as the group's touring guitarist. Asked by a fan if he had been contacted by GN'R regarding the lead guitarist position, Guns responded, "I sent Axl and email. I let him know I had a year off and that I would be willing to go kick some ass with him. I got no reply. Sad"
