Just got System Has Failed promo...And it's sad that only first 3 songs (blackmail the universe, Die dead enough, and kick the chair[best one] are great...
rest sounds really like b-sides or something like that...some songs sound too poppy...
well the cover is cool and Kick The Chair is really cool song sounds like RIP era ..which is great...

I've only listened to it once straight through and I like it! I think The Scorpion is my favorite track so far.

Well anyone knows who's going to be the bass player from now on?
The record has Dave Mustaine alongside drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and bassist Jimmy Sloas. Additional lead guitar tracks were laid down by former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland.
MEGADETH's lineup for the upcoming tour will be as follows:
Dave Mustaine ? Guitar/Vocals
Glen Drover (EIDOLON, ex-KING DIAMOND) ? Guitar
Nick Menza ? Drums
James MacDonough (ex-ICED EARTH) ? Bass
Mustaine has stated that this is the "farewell" Megadeth tour, although it appears as though they'll be out for "about 2 years"

Does anyone know what classical piano piece that is that opens Megadeth's "Last Rites/Loved To Death"? Like, who the composer is, and what the piece is called? I've been looking for it and can't find it, but I know that it sounds familiar.

A friend has trapped me into going to see Megadeth later this month (free ticket), anyone kept up with their tour?? Is it going to be as bad as I think it is?
I borrowed The System is Down from a roommate last night, and it didn't exactly sound promising.? ?

i saw megadeth last friday in philly. awesome show. they play a good mix of songs from throughout their career. and although mustaine can be annoying sometimes, live on stage he knows how to get a crowd going.
i had hoped he'd have some or all of the original members, but the band sounded great. they rocked non-stop for 2 straight hours. well worth the $20 spent on the ticket.

Yeah, that's what I meant ... and I'm glad to hear they played a mix of songs, a friend told me the last time he saw them live they played primarily from their latest CD.

Man, Megadeth was playing TONIGHT in Toronto, and I couldn't go see them! Too much university crap to do, and I nobody else I knows like Megadeth, so I didn't buy a ticket.
I haven't bought
The System Has Failed
, but I liked "Die Dead Enough", even if the video left a little to be desired. As for your complaint about no original members besides Mustaine, I actually heard that Nick Menza is going to be playing drums now on the tour. I know he's not an "original" member, but he's the drummer for the classic (and best) Megadeth lineup, so that's even better.
