we GNR FANS-- suddenly find GNR ridiculous in some ways, well shouldnt we be supporting those musicians instead of criticizing' em.?

No.  we can be the most diehard fans on the planet but that does not mean we have to agree with everything said or done by Axl or Slash or anybody else.  being a fan means supporting them and wanting the best for them through thick and thin, but it does not mean we have to agree with and justify their actions through thick and thin.  honestly i get sick when I read about fans of any band who have to defend an asshole rock star simply because they feel they cant be fans unless they do.

Well guys, dont missunderstand me, I think we must criticize them as fans, but in this thread we were reaching a point where we not only criticize, but also make a mockery of what they did.

It isn't about us making a mockery of GNR. Its about GNR making a mockery of themselves. ok

Hi guys... I was thinking more about this thread, and its kind of funny how -- we GNR FANS-- suddenly find GNR ridiculous in some ways, well shouldnt we be supporting those musicians instead of criticizing' em.? peace

Well, IMO, this band is NOT GnR, just trying to make a buck off the name.  So i have absolutely no problem criticizing them.  IMO, VR is more GnR than GnR

Good for you.

Maybe you'll figure out "soon" that people like yourself aren't in the majority here and might not feel very welcome.

The name "discussion" has been done a few times already.

With all respect guys, I agree with Jmapelian,  VR has more Old GNR feeling than New GNR, but its cool that they released an album and played mostly their songs, I didnt like the fact that Axl toured with old GNR songs, even if Axl owns the name.

For me, GN'R "jumped the shark" when the Use Your Illusions albums came out because of two things.  First off, not saying the UYI albums sucked or anything, but they didn't have that nasty edge that the first two albums from "the most dangerous band in the world" had (call it overproduction or whatever).  Secondly, for a band that supposedly didn't give a f**k about anything, songs like Get in the Ring showed they were actually pretty soft when it came to criticism and bad reviews to the point that it was almost embarrasing.  I still love the original band but I've never thought of them the same.

good point made there about not handling critisicm

classic golden era GNR didnt need to stoop to the level of a blatant turkey like Get in the ring - they were a gang that let the music do the talking and Get in the ring was the creative nadir of UYI

I thought Clear Channel pulled the plug on the tour Huh

It has not been 100% established who cancelled the tour...but it's on the band that there was NO explanation and NO apology

Here's another possibility: When Moby was working with Axl

If something is to go legal, it is best not to say anything

Philly happened more than 3 years ago. Did it go to legal, but we haven't heard of it? Or it was just a sentence and didn't have anything to do with what Nick said?

I would take that to mean that Mysteron believes it went legal

And did anything happen in the last 3 years? I mean legal things. There were trials, etc, but they kept it secret?  Huh

I dont believe there has been anything stated legal or otherwise
Perhaps you could clarify it for us?
