Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I have watched this video a load of times but had time to watch it again today after a while and some of the things in the video are pointless IMO. Axl jumping off that ship, tanker thing. Sorry but makes no sense at all. And i think someone said that axl and slash werent in the same shot in that video and they were right. And matt in a bar or wherever it was. Again WTF ? And slash coming out of the water was pointless.

At the end it gives the definition of dillusioned(i think) and that was one way of putting things.

Sorry for ranting but does anybody think this besides me ?

That's really cool though. Not everything needs to have a meaning. In that case, Slash climbing on top of a grand piano and throwing his guitar over a cliff is also pointless. But Cool!  ;D

why don't you try adding part 3 of the trilogy to your collection, it is the making of estranged axl explains the making of the video and what its all about, pretty much walks you through it!!!!

I think it's the coolest video ever.

I also think its a cool video.  I'm sure all the weird stuff has some sort of symbolic meaning, but the main thing is it looks cool.  Especially the parts with Slash.  When he rises from the ocean playing the solo...damn that's so fucking cool.  And when he's outside the Rainbow playing the other solo and he's like floating kinda.  That's badass too.

If I remember correctly, the dude coming from the ocean is not even Slash, just a double. ..could be wrong though.

Nope.  Axl and Slash are together during the concert footage.



The guy emerging from the water was a stunt double.  But when he's standing there on top of the water playing, that's really Slash.

I guess that's acceptable.  I'm just gonna pretend its Slash the whole time.

  you are so right!  Sorry, I own them all and the whole time I never really paid attention think automatically it was 1,2, and 3, always thought of it that way due to 'Trilogy', I have probably made some silly convo thinking 4 was 3.  Oh well we're all entitled to have a little air on the brain sometimes....

Axl jumping of the boat is what I asumed desesperation and he doesn't want to be saved, at the end he was saved in many ways, thats the way I see it, why people can hear and see the video with the heart?

that's the job of a stuntman.  to make you believe it was the performer doing it all.  just like in the movies

Who cares does it mean anything its the best video they could have made for the song so just bit the bullet

The dolphin represents Inner Peace and Axl chasin the dolphin symbolizes him chasing it, and when he catches it and is with the dolphin at the end, that means he found his peace.


Jumpin off the ship is basically killing off his old self and tryin to evolve and change into a better version hence the AXL Converse  at the end, just meant he is leaving his old ways behind.


Great thing about GNR is, u have to use your mind to understand it, its not literal.
