Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

None of them. Richard and Robin are complementary. 50/50. It's perfect like that. 2 guitars and 2 keyboards are enough. Why ruining the band's cohesion with a 3rd guitarist? The mistakes of 2002 (Buckethead) musn't be repeated.
Musically and humanely, the band seems cohesive now. That's the most important.

Of the two, I'd have preferred Zakk to stay. Not a big Navarro fan.

A few months back Navarro played "Oh My God" on Camp Freddy Radio and talked about how back in the day he'd considered taking up Axl's offer to join GNR, pre OMG.

Later, after working with Axl for the recording of OMG, he said turning down the offer was the best professional decision he'd ever made.  He had no desire to ever work with a frontman who "phoned in instructions to me on how to play guitar".

I'm the same way, love Navarro, he's fantastic a rock star.  However, I'd prefer Zakk if the opportunity ever arose again.  He'd definitely provide a shot of testosterone to the band.

If the band had Slash, then I'd go with Dave, since he can enjoy himself playin' mostly rhythm. But without Slash, then I'd choose Zakk. He has an incredible talent, the man is a very skilled and interesting artist.  ok

JA were okay, but Navarro's solo work is . . . completely forgettable. I owned his first solo album. I have no recollection of it, nor do I know where it went. Like Dave Navarro's chops, it simply faded out of existance.

do you mean his only solo album, the one released in 2001?
JA were ok.....haha, don't think you've really heard that much, or ever gotten into the stuff you've heard.
they released a damn great album in 2003 you know..
people that are sceptical about his abilities to rip should check out JA songs like Ocean Size, Idiots Rule, No One's Leaving, Ain't No Right and Been Caught Stealing. ok

Pretty harsh words for one of the most influential players of the modern rock era, to each his own

What was "Deconstruction"? I thought that was his solo cd or project & that was released way before 2001.

I'd take Zakk as lead guitarist for GnR cause I think he's more that style.

Also, what's up with Carmen Elektra auctioning off dates with her on Ebay? Do they have an open marriage or something? Thought that was weird.

I don't think the winner's going to be, as Dave puts it "hit that shit" at the end of the night so it's all in good fun and for a good cause. ok

I find debunking the opinion stated as fact fodder around here to be like shooting fish in a barrel.

You're goofy statement was a whale in a goldfish bowl.

It's okay that you missed the point, and that you continue to miss the point. At least you're being consistant.

Hence the term "goofy" equating you're initial statement to a joke. Grin

I'll take Zakk anyday.  It's not even a contest.  His playing on his first couple Ozzy albums was great, and his playing on the BLS albums is frigging brilliant.  I've never heard anything done by Dave Navaro that I'd consider even remotely brilliant.  He's a slightly better than average guitarist with a way hotter than average wife.
