I think its hilarious when some guy who looks like any of the guys in the "Mullet" thread lets loose with a great line like "I dont mind queers, they just better not get any ideas about me."

This guy couldnt get the most desperate woman in the world to ask him out, yet he thinks all homosexual men want him? Wait a minute, I'm getting close to crossing threads again. We all know that its very bad to cross the streams.

It's always like that.

I worked as a waiter and bartender for years in Florida, which as you are well aware, has a huge gay community. In some places the entire wait staff could be gay men. Some of the exchanges could be downright wicked. You really wouldn't wanna be on the bad side of some of those queens. But anyway, I remember a guy like that saying pretty much the same thing. The gay waiters cold response: "Don't impress yourself." LOL, I think he didn't even take his hand of his hip to say it either...........

Yep, we do alot of work down in South Beach. For every smoking hot girl strutting around in a barely there bikini, there is a gay man who feels that he has to dress or act completely over the top to draw attention to himself. We've had to do some work in a few restaurants/bars down there and its usually before they open for business. One place, all the waiters just happened to be gay. Listening to the conversations were some of the funniest shit I've heard in my life, they were critiquing every man and woman that walked buy. Hell, I learned a few new words that day.

I didnt watch the movie because the story didnt interest me. If I want to watch a "gay" movie to show how tolerant I am I'll watch Birdcage all day, that was a funny movie.

Why not watch a movie because its good, not to prove you are tolerant?  To say Brokeback mountain is gay movie or the gay cowboy movie is oversimplifying it and selling it short.  It is a powerful love story about two people who can't be together.  The reason they can't be together is because they are both men, and at that time and place it is an obstacle that can't be overcome.  It is a story about how they end up with wrecked lives and by extension hurt their loved ones.  The word "gay" isn't even spoken once.  They are normal people (no lisps or flamboyant outfits) with normal lives.

Its not a message movie.  Its not out to make a political statement.  It is just a really good movie, it is haunting and moving, and the acting performances are incredible.

I worked as a waiter in a high end French restaurant in Tampa in the early 90's. Same deal, all the guys were gay and it was some of the funniest shit you could ever imagine in your life. And you think that just regular guys give each other a hard time? No way, no comparison. When you went to work, you had better be ready to fend for yourself and have thick skin.  hihi

Why should it bother you if someone has a different preference than you? What are you worried about? This can be applied to anything. So much of whats wrong in this world is because people cant accept that not everyone thinks or acts the same way. There is no right or wrong, despite what your church or government might tell you. There is just your preference.

That's a very dangerous line of thought to go down.  Moral relativism isn't a solution, it's a problem.  That being said, I see nothing morally wrong with two consenting adults living their lives how they choose.

Don't confuse "natural" and "normal".  There is no such thing as un-natural.  That is a fabricated term used by people to attack a cause or action they disagree with.

^ I've got no problem with any of that. Live and Let Live. Just because something is different doesnt make it wrong, or right for that matter.

you have that the wrong way around...unnatural has a basis that something goes against nature...2 people of the same sex cant procreate and is therefore unnatural..normal has no basis as the word is subjective and dependent upon situation and whoever you talk to

Ok, I'll play devils advocate even though I agree with you mostly. Who declared it is natural to procreate? It is natural to have lustful feelings that might actually develop into love, but there is no rule or law that says procreation is natural or should occur. If anything there should be a whole hell of a lot less of it occuring. My experience is the only written word condeming same sex - sex is religious documents. Which again goes back to my thought that it is just a belief and just because it may be different than yours, does not make it wrong.

No, my argument is everything is natural.  Two men engaging in sexual intercourse is natural because they are human beings that came from nature.  Just as the atom bomb is natural because it was conceived in the human mind that evolved in nature.  While "normal" can be subjective, it's not as subjective as many would like.  Normal and common practice can be somewhat interchanged.  It's normal for men and women to be attracted to each other as 95-97% of the population is heterosexual.

well if we couldnt procreate the human race wouldnt be here, would it? if it wasnt for the procreationists there would be noone to care

that depends how broadly you define natural, id say your definition was far too broad

religious documents?...never read them, dont care about them...i make my own judgements

What I dont understand is.

All these Right wing conservative groups talk about how being Gay is a sin and all this b ullshit

Horses are Gay, Dogs are Gay

So how do they explain that shit?

There is nothing wrong with being Gay at all.

Brokeback Mountain if u havent saw it, I suggest u rent it immediatley.

Its one of those movies that will change your life in my opinion.

One thing I don't believe in, is "turning gay" or "turning lesbian". I think it's just people that don't realize they're bisexual.

Sterling: I'm not disagreeing with you. I think maybe I didnt get across my message very clearly. I was refering to people that normally wouldnt give a damn about a cowboy movie, or a love story. Yet they go to see this movie because they want to talk to their friends about how they went to see the "Gay Cowboy Film" because it was the in thing to do. Now the word "gay" might not have been mentioned in the movie but it certainly was mentioned in almost any conversation or article about the movie.

If a movie is good or if it has a great cast, I dont care what its about, I'll go see it. The actors didnt do anything for me, I do have a thing for Anne Hathaway but I can watch Havoc for that, and the story just didnt do anything for me. I might eventually watch it now that its on DVD but there would have to be awhole hell of alot of nothing else to choose from. peace
