Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I've been a member of that other G N' R site (mygnr)for a few years and I was wondering what you guys thought of it and how does it compare to this one.  So far I've found the people on here very friendly and informative.  I've always heard about this site and it always seems that this is the frontrunner when it comes to new info. about the band.  What do you guys think?

I always thought mygnr sucked. I met a couple guys in LV from that site, and they were douche bags.

I always thought mygnr sucked. Later I met some guys from MyGnr out in Vegas and it only confirmed what I already felt about the posters at that site-that they were imbeciles.

From what I've read the forum is riddled with childish insults and half wits.

Of the two guys I met in LV, one told me that "Axl needed us" (totally delusional), while his buddy screamed at Robin "It's not the same without Slash." Just a couple of straight up dopes that mirrored what I had already read on that site.

Honest opinion does not equal unfriendly.

What the hell would you go to a show for, and proceed to yell that the band was better before you got there....? 

Does that make sense?  It's like going to a titty bar and coming out of the closet to your freinds.   

It made zero sense to me, and made even less sense that the guy got on a plane, and flew to the show in order to do it.

I've visited it to get some information that was censored by this website, like the letter from Merck or the scoop on the 'Better' Harley commercial... but I don't bother reading the comments or posting.

I've been banned. I believe 10 times. I am still around there though, mainly to talk to people that aren't on here.

I post there from time to time but for the most part the people are just incredibly immature and just sit there and insult each other or they are insulting GNR (which makes no sense to me since it is a fan forum).  The mod work is seriously suffering over there and the posters just run wild making it almost impossible to get info over there even if you want it.  I like this site the best, always have, it's nicely set up and easy to read and find things on. ;D

In 02 I got into an argument with a guy who kept booing Buckethead during his solo and screaming out "Fuck this shit! We want rock n' roll! Bring out Slash!" That's just rude. It's a waste of my time, the band's time, and apparently this asshole's money. That's how I feel about most of mygnr as well.

Hey Kasanova.  I'm ashamed to admit I'm a member over there as well.  I recognized your screen name and I've got a give a  :beer: cheers to you for some nice posts.

I have over 2,400 posts (and those aren't 1 sentence posts either) here at HTGTH.  This is the best GNR fan site in the world.  I've met a lot of folks on this board up in NYC and Jersey at some '06 shows and everybody was very cool.   

This forum is moderated very well.  "That" forum is just packed with GNR-hating trolls that are allowed to run the show.
Sometimes it's fun to put some trolls in their place over there, but often it just feels like a waste of time.  How many times do I have to read threads that attack the credibility, talent, and motives of members of Guns N' Roses?  How many times do I have to read threads that are just bashes?  Whether it be Axl, Beta, Merck, Del, Jarmo, etc. it just goes on and on. 

This site really is above all that crap.  Welcome to the board.   :peace:

honestly it sucks.

its not a GnR fan board.  its more like a GnR bitch fest.    Every single thread gets hijacked by disgruntled slash fans worse than any other GnR site I've ever seen, and that type of thing is generally condoned by the regulars and even some of the mods.    Most of the members there don't even care about the band now, they just want to jerk off to the old band and whine about Axl.  It is what it is.

yea sounds like a mygnr member to me.    a few years back the site wasn't so bad but now its just a place to spread hate.

when the band seemed rather quiet? Do they hate their fav band touring the world?

well its always had its share of trolls.   but it got progressively worse not long after the tours started.  :no:  but before it was possible to have decent gnr discussions.

of course if you went there and asked them they'd say i was a troll.  because i'd always question why people would post day after day in the GnR section if all they wanted to do was complain about who was in the band and whine about Axl doing things the way he does..   thats the kind of membership they have.. the type that hates the band so much they fly to their shows and spend massive amounts of money on hotels, accomdiations, tickets, etc just to yell at robin finck.   people who are obsessed with the past and can't get over the fact that Slash left the band 12 years ago.

Basically, I told everyone that she was denied backstage access not once, not twice, but 5 times by security at a show. :)

I was registered there, but apparently I got banned after 3 posts. All of which were benign. I guess I have been affiliated with Bud Fox. Probably for the best, I was going to rip some rightwing assholes a new one, but I mean damn! I hadn't started yet.

I have to confess that I went there in search of the new demos/songs when they leaked...  ::) Other than that I haven't been there much, I dislike the mood in there, some people are real annoying, repetitive and narrow-minded...

I think Jarma & Co. do a wonderful job with this website, very clean, and aesthetically, it's one of my favorite websites to visit, period.

It always seemed to me MYGNR has a lot of side trash (ie kids who love GNR because A7X list them as an influence), and the site is ugly, and Jarmo just seems cooler then Madison.

I think I've been there before, but they seemed nice at the time. I haven't been there in so long though, so I guess it's probably changed now?
