This is where your argument really falls apart. He owned that name. You all took that name in an effort "steal" his members. The reason why really is irrelevant; If he choose to, he could probably shut you down and maybe even keep you from starting another forum. I think the duplicitous nature of the actions of the Admins of that site are evident to any unbiased observer.

I don't have a "dog in this fight", just an unbiased opinion.

True, but reality tends to be slightly more nuanced than that.

Fact is Brody brought this on himself when he became the boss who never comes in to the office. You know, sleeping in late, going to the golf course. Then one day he simply closed the office without informing anyone.

Sure, he is in the right to do that. But breaking your informal commitment to your friends will at some point produce a reaction. He may own it, but everybody knows the creation of that community was a joint effort, an equal partnership. While that doesn't justify what happened it surely puts some perspective on it.

wow, that was interesting reading.. Not quite sure it really merits the attention, but then I got board and decided to read.. Not really sure if I can add anything of substance to this conversation. But one thing that clicks in my mind, is that as this is all an intertwined community its kinda sad seeing people rip others. I guess its not so unlike the turmoil that GNR had in its original state, but fractures happen, wounds heal, and people move on.

No, the server we were on had an issue with databases over 800 mb.. so everything after the 800 mb got slashed.. sucks but I can deal with it! Smiley

One would win the case if the community, one or the other, created a publically owned entity. All members would have a peice of ownership, but of course there would be a majority head in charge.

But since the name is different now, it's the community that took hold. That's fair game, I'm sure, legally speakng.
