In regards to your last question, my guess is that if you look around at the crowd, you will see a mix that can be determined by age. Those my age might buy the hardcopies and the younger crowd might be more into streaming - or albums, since they're making a comeback (even the younger folks are jumping onboard). Oddly enough, I'm a spotify guy now but that's only because - when I got a new car about three or four years ago - it didn't come with a CD player. If it did, I'd still buy them. Of course, I'm pretty much stereotyping here and could be completely off.

Personally, I buy physical copies from artists I really like. But I buy less than I used to for sure. Thanks to streaming, I don't need to buy every single CD/LP that has a few good tracks.

There's all kinds of fans at shows. Some, as you pointed out, still like to buy CDs and/or LPs. But I'm sure there are people there who like to listen to the artist on streaming only, and they will still go see the artist every single time. And not just young people.

On top of that, how many of them listen to albums start to finish.

But I wanted to reply because your comment created an enjoyable sense of nostalgia that I'm glad I was able to partake in. I will admit, however, I did not enjoy camping out for concert tickets or trying to call in and buy them over the phone and getting a constant busy signal. However, because it was the musical hardcopies making the bands money, the tickets were cheaper. That I do miss!

The first show I saw was GN'R in 1991. I think my ticket was about $20.

I still buy CD's and vinyl, my 1980's  Hifi is the envy of my kids  hihi  Love getting oriignal pressings of vinyl too, loads of artist have been run through my stylus and the analogue sound and richness of those recordings still rock. Caught the postman the other day sat on my doorstep "taking a breather  rofl" whilst I played The Wall by Floyd. He did say he loves that album and is minded to get a copy himself.

When the guy dropped off the dumpster yesterday, he said the roofers would start at 7, maybe 6:40.  They were here at 5:40.   hihi  Can't blame them it's hot on those roofs.  A Mexican crew, of course, they get all the grunt work.  Four guys in a two seater van.  They're on it.  My cat has already checked out the van.

Sorry, they shoved 3 guys in the back of the van sitting on tarps with rest of the equipment.  Barely speak english, just like the guys digging the optic wires.  You have to wonder if they are being taken advantage of.  When I worked with the Cambodian refugees, they were victimized by everybody including other refugees who could speak english.  They feared the government so we didn't know what was happening as everything was said through interpreters.  They'd smile at you all the time but behind those smiles you knew they were scared.

Here's what happen with 31, 32 and 33.  The important part is they didn't come home with me.   hihi

Met Sharon at the garden early this morning with her three asiatic lilies.  She already has a row of five tree lilies so I tell her there is more and where they are at if she wants to plant these in a back row in between the ones she has.  She would need 4 to do that.  She blows me off, doesn't want me to stay and help her weed.  It's a thing with her.  She's in her 80's with arthritic hands and like a child wants to prove she can do it herself.  Nice lady, takes care of the roses and does the ladies high tea.  I leave her to it.  Come about three o'clock, she calls, wants to know if we have more.  She needs one more for symmetry.  Did I not try to talk to you about that this morning!   hihi  I would never yell at Sharon, told her I would take care of it.

But to take one left just two behind, 32 and 33.  Couldn't fit them in that rose bed but the one next to it had a dead rose in the middle.  Now I need another plant, I have roses on each side those two so I need something for the middle.  Maybe 34 or maybe something I already have, we'll see.  Never knew lilies got so tall.

I know these lists are always subjective but it may be the worst top 100 list iv ever seen put together. There is no list that should have Lauryn Hill as #1. Id love to know what "artists and experts" were involved in this. Im not claiming GNR should be #1 and I understand we are currently living in a Taylor Swift world which is just sad. But any real person with knowledge in this area would have artists like MJ,The Beatles,Pink Floyd, Whitney Houston those are the artists with  biggest selling albums of all time. I am sure this list is based off of downloads now of course but not a good list in terms of the order of these.

Appetite should be higher and the Illusions (put together) should ABSOLUTELY be on that list too.

Memorial Day, thanks for your service, never forgotten.

My mother gave me one of those reusable totes with veteran stuff on it for my SIL.  She's turning him into a glorified bag lady!   hihi

Whenever anyone posts an old concert ticket stub, I am immediately drawn to the price, like...damn.

I got some that say $5 and I was right up front.   hihi  Last few posts are bringing back a lot of memories.  Lots of regrets I missed a lot of bands because at the time the money wasn't there.  Albums I didn't get to own.  But music sure had it's place in my life at one time and it was good.

I saw Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Vixen et al at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1989 and the ticket was only £10 lol

New Mad Max movie.  It got poor reviews but something to look forward to as a TV movie.   Cheesy

We have another tornado watch.  Should be the last one for a while.  Southern Illinois will get the worst of it.  Been a wild spring.
