Why isn't there a Savatage thread already man!! Why has no one I know heard of them (except Thorazine Shuffle...hihi )!!!? They rock!! I'm so surprised that not a lot of people have heard of them!

Which is why I started this thread. Discuss all things Savatage here.

Today I bought 3 albums. Gutter Ballet, Hall of the Mountain King, and Handful of Rain.  beer drool Grin

Wow.  Gutter Ballet.  I owned that one in high school, and remember loving it.  There a line somewhere in there...something like, "I was finished with time until time finished me," right?  Damn.  I haven't thought of that band in a long, long time...

For better or for worse, I already am.  And yes, I hold you entirely to blame.

What song was that line from, do you know?  I keep thinking it was called "believe," but I'm not finding that track on the album...

Oops.  I was thinking of "Streets: A Rock Opera," not "Gutter Ballet."

And "When the Crowds are Gone" is indeed a great song...

When the crowds are gone features on both Gutter and Streets

Streets is a great album if you like rock opera

I traded it in - along with a lot of other albums I still wish I had - during my freshman year of college.  I feel like a monumental dumbass for getting rid of all that music, especially since I'm now re-buying a lot of it a decade later on eBay.  Still, it made sense at the time, I guess.

I'm *so* buying "Streets" again.

Ahh I guess its a part of life eh... and then when you buy it again all these memories come flooding back and you wonder why you ever got rid of it in the first place. Smiley

But THEN there's the thing where you just put it all into storage (like for a move or something), and you forget about it for a while because some shit's gone down that you gotta deal with, and then you suddenly remember it and you rush to the storage place and get it and listen to it, and you sit there quietly remembering all the times you listened to it, and when you bought it and all that.

Exactly.  Which is why I just re-bought "Streets: A Rock Opera" again.  Good stuff that I won't get rid of a second time...

Savatage is overshadowed by Trans Siberian Orchestra, but is better. Wink

Yeah, I have.  Not quite a masterpiece, but a fun listen.  I'm glad I have it.  Again.     beer

The lind is "I wasted my time until time wasted me." Believe is a great song.                              I talked to their bassist last year. He said they are under contract for one album. but it doesnt look like it will happen.  Check  out "Jon Olivas Pain" its as close as we will get to new Savatage.
