Title: 4/8-4/9 2016 - "Axl's in ear mix recording" versions
Post by: AndrewH257 on June 25, 2016, 02:36:36 PM
I'm not sure of the appropriate category for this, since I haven't posted much (barely at all) over the years.

On the YouTube channel below, there are supposed "Axl's in ear mix recording" versions of songs from April 8th and 9th in Vegas this year, and they sound remarkably better than any of the bootlegs I've heard thus far.

As for me, hello.  I've been registered since '04 and basically read the entertaining posts without chiming in.  Thanks Jarmo for the best GNR site I've seen.  I even recognize some of you from the old Dust N' Bones email list, especially DX :-)

But it's indeed something cool that more people must be aware of. :D

You can download both albums from the site below. Plus the DVD's of the two shows. really awesome stuff! A pity these are not released by the band, sounds so good even on bootlegs!

One more thing about this... on "Jungle" from 4/9/16 I can actually hear Dizzy's bongos pretty easily in the mix, especially around the 1 min and change mark.  Maybe the audiophiles have noticed this before, but I never have heard it in either the UYI DVDs or any bootlegs.  Reminds me of a remastered classic album where "new" stuff that was always there suddenly becomes audible.

I can her the bongos in the Rock in Rio Lisboa 2006 bootleg. They are actually louder than the drums.

I have't had a chance to listen to these... Does this have any of the between song banter that we got in some of the previous lineups in ear recordings? Like when Axl calls out Ron working Estranged into the Pink Panther solo ("I heard that!").
