I think it would be cool b/c it brings fans together from everywhere for a few days, usually the headliner does a show on the ship as well as on land, so you'd get the Up Close and Personal and the full stage & pyro experience. They'd have other bands performing, and have clinics. Everyone I've known who's been on other band-themed cruises had a blast, and felt they got their moneys worth.

Axl doesn't even have to go far: Long Beach to Cabo and back.

I don't think it would bea great idea either. Just seems really cheesy. I don't think of Guns as in the same class of bands that would play a cruise.

I seriously doubt it.

I think everyone is making way too big of an issue out of the private show. They were already on tour in the area. I seriously doubt they would go and get everyone together for a wedding or a cruise etc.

This isn't exactly cabaret.

Cruise ships are nothing more or less than a floating hotel. When you go to a show, you get 3 hours of entertainment, and spend money on swag, drinks, parking, etc. In this case, you're getting 3-4 days of entertainment, not just from GNR but from other artists that would be picked by the band, or even the guys in the band being able to bring their own bands on. Everyone that would go are all big fans of the band if they're putting that much money into an event like that.

Plus there's no curfew, if Axl wanted to go on at 3AM, he could do that.

Private parties are one thing, but a cruise? Please no. We have to deal with enough jokes from haters and media. lol

I think it'd be a cool idea. This would be a blast: www.getshiprocked.com  Highly doubt Guns would do it, but it'd be a blast.

The haters are going to hate no matter what, and the media would just say it's another band changing the face of what cruises used to mean. Artists and bands have a relationship to maintain, playing in front of a guaranteed fanbase is to me a good thing, most of the people that would be going have seen them over the past 12 years.

Plus Axl would get to make announcements on the PA.

"Playing Vegas" used to mean you were washed up and done as an artist. It hasn't been that way in years. That's what's gone on with cruises. It's a venue that people want good entertainment. And it's more booze cruise than shuffleboard.

I don't think the band even knows what the interest would be.  Axl  would prob. have to have his people look at the numbers, and fan interest in it. The rest of the guys, I'm sure would be packed up ready to go, with minor complaints. I think they'd all call a few people who've done it in the past.

Bands are divided on festival shows b/c they're outdoor events and basically plugging into someone else's equipment, unless they're the ones running the fest. I think if you were to ask Axl what he'd rather do, a festival or a cruise, the festival only serves two purposes: a big payday, and a possibility of drawing new fans in. This is a guaranteed fanbase putting down money to spend a few days away from home.

Haha, there'd have to be a Helicopter landing pad on the boat for this to work, haha.

KISS does a cruise each year where they play multiple shows filled with deep cuts they would never normally get to play. If GNR did something similar, it would probably be one of the best times of my life. I don't see why any fan wouldn't enjoy something like that.

Affording a ticket is another issue, but I don't see why a GNR cruise would be a bad thing.

With the addition of DJ Ashba and Bumblefoot, GN'R is a changed-band now, and a lot more fan friendly.

Axl's not in hiding anymore - he's signing autographs and updating his fans on Twitter.

I could see a Pirate cruise like this happening in a few years.
