They will never return to the shake your moneymaker sound.   It was their first album, a very different era and they were a lot younger, plus the fact that it was a different band lineup.
Plus, from album to album there have always been some stylistic changes in their music.

And thats just fine with me. I just always hear people complaining that they want them to make another album like that one. Move on people.  Hmmmmm, sounds familiar Roll Eyes

by wanting them to sound like there earlier days (first 3 albums) i mean the more upbeat faster rocky songs. Rather than an album of stoned out slow blues tracks.

I dunno if it's cause I have been listening to it for so long but I actually think SYMM is a little boring compared to their other work. Great album and all but I wouldn't want them to ever try to make it again. Very happy with warpaint.

I don't think Warpaint sounds like that tho. It actually reminds me of Sticky Fingers Era stones.

I haven't skipped one track yet after giving the album multiple spins.

The bassline during the chorus of Walk Believer Walk is the coolest I have heard in years.

Same with me. I've listened 5 times start to finish, not skipping a track.

I am leaning towards Wounded Bird as my favorite at the moment.

listening to it atm. only on third track. so far its what i didnt want it to be. Too laid back. I hope it picks up a little bit.

-------------------
much further in. Too much pot guys, too much pot.  I think Chris n co walked into a haze of ganja smoke and never came back out on this one. The songs are good, but a whole album of this pace can be quite tiresome. no

----------
further edit. Kinda not to do with the new album, who else loves the song "peace anyway" i think its a unreleased one. I think its a great song.

Just wanted to post a few updates.

The L.A. show has been moved from The Avalon to The Wiltern due to overwhelming demand for tickets.

And...

http://www.blackcrowes.com/liveblackcrowes.html

And a question.

Has anyone seen them on this tour so far?

What an amazing weekend.

I was front row in front of Rich at the Wiltern, an amazing concert!

I saw them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

And on Saturday, I saw ex-guitarist Marc Ford at my local blues bar down the street.

Wow.  drool
