Yeah, I've been in love.  I love my husband... although we probably have the strangest relationship on earth... but it works.

I also love my children, although, that is obviously a different love than you mean in this thread.

However, it wasn't until the birth of my first child that I realized what love really was.  It was truly the most awesome experience of my life, and it opened my eyes and my heart to true feelings, something that I had not realized that I had been "faking" before, only because I didn't know what  real feelings really were.

So...  while love for your offspring is different, it is a life changing experience that sent me on a journey to find a more significant commitment.  As I have mentioned before on this board, my current husband is the first man I've ever been faithful to.   And I am faithful now, because I now realize that I love him and myself enough to be able to make a commitment.

OK... this is a lot more than I had ever planned on sharing with this board, so I'm going to shut up now.   :-X

How could someone who is such a dickhead write something so sweet? :hihi: :hihi:

Love is the greatest, gives life meaning and takes u to heights that are unattainable any other way.

Love is also a suckerpunch in the teeth with brass knuckles as it can take u to lows that arent attainable by any other means.

Love is great, I owe everything I am today to being in love. Love changed everything bad about me so If u have the chance to be in love, go for it! there's nothing like it, of course breaking up is the worst pain u will ever feel, but take a chance!

I got two experiences I'd like to share.

My gf. I love the way she kisses my neck and wraps around me on the morning even if I'd love to sleep (however I did tell her that she'll make me coffee if she wakes before me :D). I love how she thinks, and the way she smiles. She's a good writer, too. I've never seen anyone write like her, it's awesome. I tend to think this is love, and when we had a big fight and I was afraid losing her I didn't know what I would do. Before her it wasn't so hard to figure out where I'd go and what I'd do, even if it would have been better to let myself heal.

However I once had this childhood friend visiting me and when she stepped out of the car I was needing some extra air, I felt like someone had punched the air out of me. It wasn't that relaxing to hit the bar with her, since I had to be on guard if someone would come to pick a fight because of her. I still can't believe she let me think she loved me, while at the time she was prolly giving head to someone else. And when she called that she had someone new (I day before my summervacation started and I had planned spending it with her) I thought fuck both of you. She broke me and at first when I went out with my friends and looked at the dance floor and found no one to compare, then I thought what the fuck am I mourning after that bitch? It's not like any of those girls compared, but it did help.

Thank you D for the wonderful compliment...   : ok:  Some of the greatest writers that I have tremendous respect for have also been called "dickheads" (Although I do prefer the term bitch, thank you very much) -- Axl Rose, for example.  You have to be able to reach the heights of complete bitchdom (or assholeness) to be able to reach the sweetest and deepest part of yourself... it's about balance, dude.   :peace:

i was walking down the isle in best buy, noticing the sweet sweet ladies, when....it happened. I saw the most beautiful face i have ever seen. i walked up to her and i held her. she was so beautiful to my eyes. the platinum paint around her eyes, the gunners tatoo in the middle of it all. i had to take her home with me. I whipped out $20 and took her home with me. i was with her all night. so sweet. we were together more and more, and as this happened, the more i realize that it was the biggest rip-off i ever faced.

we broke up, and we have an on and off relationship. i listen to her sometimes when im in the mood and she just waits for me there.

the moral of the story..................

If you ever see a Guns N' Roses greatest hits or platinum edition dont buy it. It'll be alright for the first week but then you will realize its a rip-off.  :hihi:

Well I dont know what's to be in love, but I know what's to like someone, I mean I used like someone and try so hard to make her like me, at the end there's only but a broken heart  :'(, anyway Locomotive is a big influence to me when it comes to love I always have said if love is blind I'll buy myself a cane. That's all i have to say about love.

I think, supposing he had been right-handed, He'd dump it for his left hand. If he were to be cheated again, he would go for his right leg, then left leg?

im 2 months out of a 5 year relationship.

SHE BROKE MY HEART...SO I RIPPED HERS OUT : ok:

na, seriously, she was my first girlfriend, met her at school and we were perfect, couldnt get anyone els more perfect then us.

Over the last year she's been livin' up the road in a house full of pot n' xtc and i hated most of the people there and kinda lost it one night (nothin' major, i pretty much told everyone what i thought on the top of my voice)....................................what the hell am i sayin'.......it's a long story, really sad, she was my girl and atleast i tried!

My doctor put me on anti-dapressants and am still goin', i was (kinda still am) really lost, but im gettin' there!!!!

All i can say from my 5 year experience, Axl, i get the picture now :hihi:!!!!

i was a bit slutly one day and i used my left hand and it wasnt as good as the right hand it wasnt meant to be. if my right hand started grabbing someone elses dick i would just cut it off.

Ooops pardon me, I didn't realise that your relation was that intimate?I thought it kinda platonic one......like just kisses n hugs.
Now You urged me to have second thoughts before offering my hand to a stranger.

Anyway, I hope you and your right hand live happily for ever and ever.... :peace:

yes I've already been in love. It's both fantastic and pretty scary. It's an extreme emotional state, difficult to deal with. It's hard to control extreme emotions like that. I think it really happens once or twice in a life (I mean REAL cruch). It's like a big thunder,
It was very simple for me: I saw the girl for the 1st time and boooom, my body became mad.? :hihi: I was all pink, very hot (the temperature suddenly increase of 10 degres within half a second), and everytime she made a step my heart went to 100 Km/H
It was a real cruch, like in the movies...yeah... a real one. It's really...weird. both fantastic and scary. Hard to explain. You've to live it.

That's simply passing desire, not love I guess.

I've been trully in love once for about 10 years and I'm still in love with her. (from spaggetti incident and later ).
For a sort period I thought I was in love with an other girl. I wasn't. After that I realised that there would never be any chance to fall in love with a different girl than her.  :-\
I also realised that love has to be two-way to be blessed , else is a disaster.  :(
We're still good friends but I'm avoiding her on purpose.

shame that you are not together with her anymore.
But I think you will meet someone best for you of the future.

Ten years sound hell long?hasn't your love changed in quality with the leap of time?
I mean I hear often couples become like friends/siblings than lovers after a long while.

I guess it will end up like this. We were never together as a couple though.
The problem is that when you experience such things you expound thoeries.
I mean, if it took me 5 years to realise that she was the ideal girl for me (although we were never together to know more things about her character) then how many years will someone need to understand if the girl he likes is the right one? You become negative in a future relationship if you believe such thing. You build a wall and say "she's not like her, she will never be". On the other hand, everything we like, we idealize it. Why should she be the ideal.? Oh dammit !? ::)
If I continue acting like this I'll remain a bachelor for my entire life :P

I am a big believer that things happen for a reason, and that we create our own destiny.? (One might think that these two beliefs are contradictory, but I don't believe so).
? ? ?
If she is truly the one, then you should be making the relationship a reality.? You should make it happen for yourself.? You'll never truly know if you're right or not about her if you don't do something and take a chance.   The best things in life come at a price, a risk, a gamble.
? ? ? ?
If this relationship were meant to be, if she was truly the "one" for you, then it would happen.? ?The fact that you've been holding on to something that isn't a reality for 10? years might suggest that maybe she isn't the one, but that you've created in your mind this idea that she is the one.? Why would you do that?? Because you are afraid of actually trying to make a relationship work, you fear love.? Love is a scary thing, it can break your heart and has driven people to extreme measures.

So, instead, you've built this ideal image of what love is, of who you love, and in all honesty, this girl that you've placed upon a pedistal is probably not all that you've made her out to be, but you've turned her in to your own icon, the ideal that can never be attained.? This protects you from actually risking your heart, falling in love and making a commitment.

Great advice Tied UP!

sometimes we get this ideal in our heads that there is only one person for us and u end up missing out on a lot of great opportunities and a lot of life by trying to make something that isnt into something u want it to be.

I am a firm believer that Love shouldnt be that hard.

If things are tight it will magically happen

sure u will have some bumpy roads along the way, but u have to look at things objectively and come to the conclusion that maybe you are living in an illusion.

heartbreak sucks but it isnt the end of the world, u gotta make your own action.

most people sit and plan their lives as it passes them by without them even noticing it while others make their destiny.

Give yourself a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if all this is worth it.

u are only young and u only live once, dont waste it.

what Tied up said about the pedestal is so fucking true, its like u can only see all the good stuff and they become this mythic figure but it is all created from your own mind.

I am in love and nothing makes u feel as good, as young and as vibrant as being in love.

when u have every kind of connection and u have trust it is amazing how high love can elevate u.

I wish everyone could feel how I feel for a day.

Ive never been this in love and this inspired in my life.

I agree with you D, you know I never let my gun stay cold  : ok:

What Tied-Up wrote is so true, I once did put a girl on pedestal, and thought I never find someone who compares, not even if I got her.

So I could've sit in my grief afterwards, but I felt the best way to get over it was to push forward!

And how am I doing now? Well, I pretty much chalenge D ?:D So yeah, I'm doing great.

I have been in love and i guess it was hard for all men who followed later on, because i was only 18 when i met real love. And just 20 when i lost it.

We had this thing, it's weird, a mix of everything .

We met through a girl who lived with me and who knew him, he was involved with a model for 5 years and i thought he was very very VOYANT. Wearing flashy paul smith suits in lime green, beattles like haircut and he was very proud of himself, very funny and disarming.

And a few months later, he was leaving his model, i was admitting to be in love too and that very day, we fell into each other's arms and had sex

 :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

That was the beginning...

aw, life...although i do have extremely bad memories with him, i have also the best ones of my life ( well, life will be long  ;) i will make others, plenty and hope to be helped loving again )

I never thought it would happen.  After years of getting screwed over by girls I liked, I had lost all faith.  There was no one out there for me, I was set to spend my life alone.

And then it happened.

Two days after Valentine's Day 2005, I met her online.  She lived in Texas, I lived in Ohio while going to school in Massachusetts.  We were both hockey fans who liked a lot of the same music.  Our favorite color is black, we like the same kinds of foods, there was nothing we didn't seem to have in common.  Except she was 1,056 miles away from my home in Cleveland and 1,591 miles from my college in Boston.  We talked on the phone a lot, and finally we met.

I flew down to be with her two weeks ago, and she is everything I hoped she would be.  We'll finally get to be together again in about 2 months, then hopefully closer together after I finish college in December.

This is really the first time I have truly been in love with someone.  It took me 21 years, but I finally found someone who seems to be compatible with me.

I gotta say that sometimes you are not in love you just love sex with that guy, in this case of course.
Cause sometimes even if Sex is great with you GF/BF doesn't mean she/he is the one for you but anyway If you really think your're in love I hope everythings goes for the best  :peace:

dick purple, what i loved before sex with him was his self assurance, was how he talked, how he knew everyone was less intelligent than he was ( he was VERY clever) and how he took things with a sense of humor, how he loved his mates and how silly he'd get when he'd miss a football match, how he'd defend me against my own family, how i was his little princess, how feminine he made me feel for the first time in my life, etc etc....

Plus, he was 6'3 and skinny and prone to allergies and rashes and i loved that too, he was a TYPICAL aquarian and i loved him to bits.

THEN, he was amazing in bed, but that added to the charm, that wasn't what created it.

I must have loved him immensely, because i never managed to be pissed off at him when i'd come home and find the latest huge tv screen or the first playstation back then, or when he had bought a new suit for 600 pounds or some horrid D&G tie for 100 quid...

I loved him. HIM. ALL of him.

I am a big believer that things happen for a reason, and that we create our own destiny.? (One might think that these two beliefs are contradictory, but I don't believe so).
? ? ?
If she is truly the one, then you should be making the relationship a reality.? You should make it happen for yourself.? You'll never truly know if you're right or not about her if you don't do something and take a chance.? ?The best things in life come at a price, a risk, a gamble.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Well, then every love we experience is good when we have a response and not good when we don't? Then every love is a psychosis and if the other has the same psychosis with you then you're the lucky one. That's very tough though. Love and hapiness is mathematics if that's true (or love is so blind). I wonder, what's the exit to this dead end. One thing I've learned is that when you avoid the person you like, it's easier to forget her. I remember that after two months she complained me why I wasn't making a call? Oh, Ain't life grand? ? :peace:
What should I say? ?:-X It's worse when I see you?
She's a good person, she will never say something to hurt you (whoever you are). We know one each other from kids, we were on the same school. I told her that I like her 6 years before. She told me she prefers us to remain friends. I'm presentable and confident enough, so nothing wrong. If she first met me now, she might liked me, although I would say, "ok it's just another beautiful girl".
I remember she once told she has never been really in love and later also replied the same thing Phebe said about the occasional desires (some posts above).

Who cares anyway you know ? that was 12 years ago now but i loved him with all my heart because he had SO many intellectual qualities and to this day, my family, who knew he had to sort himself out, still talk about him and my grandfather misses him ( well, he would, my ex was a footie fan, like my grandad and had the same sense of humor lol)...

I remember she once told she has never been really in love and later also replied the same thing Phebe said about the occasional desires (some posts above).

Love is real, regardless of whether or not you act upon it.? And it's not so "black and white" as to say it's good only when acted upon, and bad when it's not... there are far too many 'grey areas' in love to be so cut and dry (it's certainly not mathematical, that would say it's a calculated thing... but it IS a psychosis -- and it CAN make you crazy)

More accurately -- Love is a risk.? ? ?

You stated that she is the "one" for you... and I responded to that, by saying if she is truly the one for you, that you need to take the risk and make the relationship a reality.? That is the only way you will truly know if it's meant to be or not.? Until you are together, you'll never really know for sure, you will just have this idealized image in your mind that the relationship that didn't happen was the? relationship that was meant to be.?

THAT is a truly lonely existence, wishing your life away on something that you weren't willing to risk it all for.

Love is perhaps the most complicated emotion that we experience, because we can sometimes hate the people we love, and everything in between those two dichotomies.? But, that doesn't mean that it's not worth the risk.

Love unrequited and/or not acted upon isn't a bad thing, but it is a SAD thing, because you'll never really have the truth, only speculation, and you are also passing up other possibilities because other people will never measure up to what you've created in your mind.

The fact is, you aren't just "only friends" ... at least, not in your heart and mind.  You've already established that you feel she's the right one for you, and so in your heart and soul, you aren't just friends with this girl, you're something more.

It may very well be that way for her, but you'll never know unless you take a chance.

As long as the two of you remain "just friends"  you'll never have the opportunity to build something more meaningful with her ... or with anyone else... so you have to decide if this friendship is worth being lonely for the rest of your life.

here is a poem/song I wrote about 5 years ago about love

Love is an illusion
Love is not real
Love is only make believe only fools would wanna feel

Love lasts temporarily
then its up and gone
leaving u feeled with sorrow
miserably hurt and alone

If u give your heart away
you better be prepared
cause love will rip out your soul
so fall in love if u dare

Im in love now so that poem doesnt ring true anymore, but it use to be cool back in the day.

i was in love.. with a guy for 2 1/2 years. he introduced me to drugs when i was 14.. ( just a baby). and yes it was bad ways.
i went to court every tuesday for 8 months, i didnt want him to go in without me saying goodbye. i went through so much emotional torture i got deppression.
i stayed with him when he had nothing, i supplyed his smokes, and he moved in with me and my parents.
we both hit the drugs real bad when i was 15, and he would get angry and hit me.
but dont worry i got him back wiked ways....
i gave him a beating a couple of times.
then one day i said you stuff up in the slightest way and your history....
2 weeks later he made a small lie and i caught him out.
i moved back home and got on with my life.
we broke up about 1 year ago, and i have only just stopped loving him bout 4 months ago.
i wanted to forget the good times we had, it should'nt have been hard considering he made me cry more than he made me laugh.

i wont settle for second best anymore. now i have a boyfriend that i have been with for 2 months. i am finally happy, but no.. not in love but the feeling is comming i just dont want to rush it.

love makes you do foolish things,? but now i have learnt and i am thankful for that experience. now i know what kind of man i dont want

I wanna know love what love is.
On a serius note. I think lots of people will think love is great but being stupid or in a cloud all day long is not funny specially if love have blinded you. I always says if love is blind I'll buy myself a cane.
People around the world trend to be ruled by they emotions I used to be like that but I onle make one mistake in my life not twice so don't give all your emoptions away in one relationship, love is not good enough if you don't know how to handle it  :peace:

You're a toolbag...........  :hihi:

Not all women are into jewelry. That's just what the diamond companies want you to believe. Give her something that comes from your heart, not your wallet. I think most women would rather a guy write her poem, rather than receive jewelry.

Mike, I completely agree. I have never been in love, only lust. You know how it is. You meet some girl, you think WOW, she's great, and then she wants to bitch and moan and play stupid games! Fuck that! I dont need an albatross around my neck! I went out with this one girl, and she must have been into domestic violence or something, cause she was always pushing my buttons, practically begging me to hit her. But I dont play those games either. I told her there was plenty of other guys who get off on domestic violence relationships, so go find one of them. Its so weird how some women love men who beat them. Maybe one day I'll find the right woman, but until then, I dont need the fucking mind games!

In a way, it's true.

Not because women want jewelry ( although i personally love to go shopping for some lol   errrm), but because women need to feel financially secure. Should they loose their job, want to quit, want to go back to school or have kids, is their partner financially secured enough so they can afford to be mothers, students, out of work, etc etc...

Nowadays, with so much unemployment, with everything being so expensive and with so many uncertainties about the future, money does bring a form of freedom, freedom of the mind, and without that stress, a better quality of life.

now that's true if you're weak enough to be used.

Seriously, I don't see it as love but only as some sort of a obsession, or deceit.

If you're so obsessed with someone you can't see the true person behind the mask, now who's there to blame?

On the otherhand, if she's telling you things and makes you believe that there's something that really ain't there, well, it's hard to tell. But is it sad or wise to watch out since I think life is too short to hold back and be careful.

But I am.
Careful.

Yeah I know, but when you are blinded by love as you say who's too blame, but how you realize you're blind? how you know that she's telling the truth? is so confusing and troubling, I think lots of that kinda trouble would be nothing if you think more with your head than with your heart.

If you have to read anyones diary  You have a huge problem!

Any person who writes anything in a diary about cheating or about complaints in a relationship are looking to get caught.?

If people want extra activities on the side or a more open/fun relationship should find someone who shares the same ideas so noone gets hurt!?

You know I never heard of Internet diaries thats something very interesting but also very strange for me, with all due respect.

to be honest, i had kept a paper diary for 11 year until my mother went looking for it, found it, read it and attacked me on what was in it.

Afterwards, since my bare thoughts had been raped, i never kept one.

I became paranoid and never told anyone my intimate thoughts, but it all became too much once more as my baby's dad is like my mother ( thank god i discovered why i was with the asshole and why i needed to leave him).

So i bought a new paper diary, with a lock ?

He went looking for the key one day as i was out and read it.

History repeated itself.

So one day, a friend told me about internet diaries and i went strait for it, because i am pretty good with computers and there is no way he will ever know.

Yup - twice, in quick succession...don't get me wrong, I loved the 'rebound' just as sincerely as I loved the first girl, but...well...I got my heart broken!

(But that was YEARS ago...)

An' lately I've been wondering...is it even possible for me to fall in love again? Am I tryin' too hard?! Was she my 'one shot' and did I blow it? When it was good, it was great! But when it was bad it hurt her and...well, it totally destroyed me.

Do I even want to fall in love again? Can I handle that much emotion? When I'm alone, I'm in control but when I'm with someone my fire burns hotter than ever and...I can't control it. The worst parts of me come out, I get jealous and posessive and even.. sometimes... Violent.

I'm a passionate person and I need someone to match that, to fight me, to challenge me! Everyone else I meet or date or fuck or whatever just...they're just too damn NICE! And I see weakness in that, I can't help it.

Bleh. Just thinkin' out loud folks, don't mind me.  I'll go be 'emo' somewhere else.  : ok:

I'm very much head over heels crazy about a guy. Unfortunately, he doesn't feel the same way about me. It truly is the worst feeling in the world :(

That's true. I've been there many times before

But someday things change.

I'll up your worse thing in the world with - being in a five year relationship, devoting yourself to to your man, giving up your career and friends only to have him empty your purse and bank accounts, leave you pregnant (miscarry - and he wasn't there), get you to quit your job, tell you he's lied to your friends (the ones you HAD left - and smirk and not tell you what he said), steal some of your stuff, cheat on you, leave without a backward glance and telling you to stay in one place and wait for him at a gig. THAT may be up there... I can't stand that guy (I'd say hate but I'm doing my best not to give a **** about him AT ALL here now).

All I can say is this - NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE - if you do - you'll miss out on the good stuff for fear of the bad. I've never stop believing and will gladly make the same mistakes over and over if it means finding the right guy eventually or at least knowing that I haven't missed him out of pure fear - that would eat me up with hatred for the guys who ****** me over and I can really live my life without that crap. Love without fear of getting hurt and when you do try and remember that it was never worth it and that the person with your time and affection is still out there - and if not - welll there's still some damn fine good times to be had and make you happy!

I am truly, madly, and deeply in love with my husband, and I fall more in love with him everyday!  We have been together for over 20 years, and married for almost 14.  Love is great!

Yup. Never really since.
I was 18 and he was the most extravagant creature.
Like seeing a colorful beattle in a black jamaican south London .
That guy was so tall I had a hard time during our years together. LOL.
Anyway we had all. The intellectual the emotional and the rest.
I guess that is why I still have a soft spot for aquarians.

But to go back to the subject , I didn't love as much since and not sure I ever will.

Cj what you want is hyper destructive.
A fight is not a challenge.
I injured the man I talk about above in a fight we had.
I will never forget and the violence can go to it's end and this is death.

Nowadays I'd rather seem passive when facing someone with that type of behaviour rather than let out that thing that years of hard work managed to tame

When I was in college I experienced love at first sight. The guy ended up totally breaking my heart, but the last time I saw him, I stood in the middle of the street in Madison, WI screaming I LOVE YOU at the top of my lungs. The memory of that makes me laugh and cringe. It was SOOOO bad, we were both crying, what a horrible scene! The last time I was in love was with a guitar player who was in a cover band. He was a lot like Randy the Ram in the WRESTLER. He had vocal cord problems and I arranged a free consult for him with the doctor who treated Madonna and Pavarotti and he dumped me for a girl who dressed like a hooker. I wish that I could call this girl up and say, "THANKYOU FOR SAVING ME FROM LIFE WITH THAT LOSER!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds cute .  Your puppy is lucky to have you I'm sure.  I love my doggie two, her name is Evanka, pretty silly but it is the name she was given at birth and so we kept it just the same.  Anyway isn't "Love" great?

Evanka is a great name.

Mine is named Little Bear. The previous owners gave him that name. I was thinking of calling him Nicodemus but he's too playful for such a serious name. He looks like a little bear anyway.

Dogs definitely bring a lot of love into your life.

It's a twisted world we live in.

This is not love, but more about being impressed.

I was 18 and there were this party and the guys started calling for chicks.

So they called up this lady named Carina.
She asked if there were any handsome boys there and I got the phone, of all, so i wen't:

"Hello, do you fuck?"

"What?"

"Do you think you'll fuck with me?"

"Eh, hm.. do you got a big dick?"

 :hihi:

I was just overwhelmed by it, thats a pretty cool sign of charracter and class.

A girl thinking whats in it for herself and feels strong enough to resist the christian (and feminist) indoctrination and ideas about how and how not a lady should conduct herself is very rare and you learn to enjoy that in people. ;)

Yep, fell in love.

Edit:

And no, it's not that I'm very handsome at all in the way christians and most women view men,-
- quite the contrary infact. Am happy that way. : ok:

It's was more about her strong personality, looking for great men to party with, thats so rockn'roll and I like it. :peace:

They absolutely do, I wouldn't trade her for anything.  She's such a lady.  Little Bear is also very cute, I like it when the names are more unique.  I also have 4 kittys, Abby and she is a maincoon 10 yrs, then Ozwald and he is 2-1/2 and a bangel, then Figgarro he is about 15 months and a tuxedo and last but not least Sugar who is female all white and 8 months.  Two special breed tree frogs, one male and one female named Maggie and Yoshi.  Love them all so much...

Nowadays people who's been together for a month talk about how they are in love.

I know a person that went to mental care after a two weeks relationship ended, sure it was the last straw, but c'mon, 2 weeks?! It's not like someone died.

I've never had problems finding someone, but the hardest part is to staying together when there's problems and frankly I can't always see the wisdom in trying when everything is pointing to a disaster.
