Is anyone else here looking foward to Buckets' contributions to the album?  I'm very keen to find out how much input he had, and I'm sure his contributions will be amazing.  I think Axl will keep most of his parts intact, being the perfectionist that he is.  I think Bucket will have many, many new fans soon.

What are your thoughts at this stage?

I hope to god they are still in there, just from what i've heard of buckethead solo work compare to bumblefoot solo work, buckethead >>> bumblefoot in my opinion, and his work on shackler's is purely amazing

If Robin doesn't come back, I think that would be a great choice.

I predict Bucket to be the driving force for new GNR's sound (on the album).

I predict that Paul Huge will have played a much bigger role in the creation of this album then many would have thought.     Without Paul, there would be no Guns N' Roses.

Driving force?  Will probably be Axl Smiley

What?

Not to mention he is on most of the tracks and may even have some writing credits.

Bucket made some excellent contributions and Bumble came in and made the songs even better.

Do you honestly think the new Rhiad is better with Rons solo?  I don't.

ok Well, it's official.  Buckethead is THE lead guitarist on the album, he's all over it, rhythm too.  They'll have to get him back if they're going to pull off a tour.

Congratulations Bucket, prepare to gain tens of thousands of new fans as a result of this.

Buckethead is so great and I love how much Axl and Bucket compliment each other. They really make a great team! I hope to see Bucket back on tour. The respect that Axl has for Bucket is fanfuckingtastic and any Bucket fan should be as respectful to Axl as they should be thankful. Bucket is indeed all over Chinese Democracy. Fucking masterful this album is (Yoda voice).

I was never a huge Bucket fan and didn't see his appeal as much as I did in the other guitar players, but he does a great job on the album.

Also, and I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade here, but you guys have to remember that Bucket left GN'R, not the other way around. I'm sure that if Axl could have had Bucket in the band still, he would've been thrilled to. But whether he's in the band, that is really not the band's/Axl's choice to make and Bucket probably had his reasons for leaving and for staying gone to this day. And from what I've read on the board today, Robin is still in the band.

On the leaked album booklet he's mostly credited for all tracks, most of which were probably tweaked by Thal and Finck afterwards as they too have credits on guitar for most tracks along with Tobias.

That Richard interview is a few weeks old.  Since then we've had myspace and NIN telling us that he's not coming back.

To me, Bucket is the most important individual contributing to this album aside from Axl.  The guy just elevates songs to a whole new level, even ones he didn't write.  Plus Sorry, which he did write, is easily one of the top two or three tracks on the album IMO.

What I love about Bucket is that his guitar work, whether it's rhythm, lead or solo, is guaranteed to fit the song.  Unlike many virtuosic players, he has a lot of restraint.  If a low key, melodic solo fits, that's what he plays.  If a crazy shred solo fits, then he does that.

I really hope Bucket comes along for the next tour.  The idea of him, Ron and Richard sharing the stage together is incredible

Dude, there was issues with Bucket concerning touring and his relationship with Fink. Bucket and Axl are cool. I just wanted to clear it up.

This is a question for all the Buckethead experts.

If its not too much of a bother, you might find it fun, can you name which solos are Bucket's on CD?

This is not a test, I would like to know.
