Post by: Falcon on February 23, 2009, 07:14:18 PM
LA's finest has posted what maybe the funniest music mockumentary (albeit only about 5 minutes) since "Spinal Tap"

Lots of notables appear as well, take a look here:

That was brilliant! Hope they make a full version sometimes. My mate is an avid fan of theirs.

There's a little reality in every parody...  ;)

I was about to make a topic for this band.

Anybody pick up Feel The Steel?  It's great...especially the insert notes.

That guitar player could play for any rock band out there today.  He has a huge bag of 80's tricks and probably would be more appreciative then some of the other "stars" of rock guitar.

These guys really piss me off.

Theyve started a wave of idiots ruining the sleaze scene in the UK, so much that ive turned my back on it.

Now every fucker is "glam", they wear wigs like these fucking idiots do and get this, use  "GLAM NAME" generator for their myspace names. So sad.

Steel Panthers album is pretty average, far too much ripping off of other artists music on the album.  The sooner they go away the better.

Plenty of better REAL new glam bands out there with fresh new sounds with a touch of old influence to keep the scene alive. Ill support the initial artists, but most of the more recent ones are just posers.

i think he played in Rob Halfords "fight" band or whatever they were called in the 1990s.

I saw them tonight and during the middle of the set they said, "we got a big surprise for you tonight, AXL ROSE..........Evelet...... Axl Rosevelt ladies and gentlemen from hollywood rose." I got excited when he said Axl Rose but then it ended up being a guy from a gnr tribute band. So they ended up playing two gnr songs...

I've never listened to them, but I don't really 'get' Steel Panther. They're a parody/tribute of 80s hair metal, in the 21st century. I mean, if they were doing this in the 80s I could understand it, but really, they're not very 'current'. I could understand a band parodying emo/indie bands today, but hair metal? Just seems a little odd. I've heard they're quite amusing, I just don't fully get it....
