Since it says GnR present Chinese Democracy, i would bet they play most if not all the songs off that album.

Why is there always someone who puts songs they havent heard? You cant say you want The General or Prostitute on the setlist because A. you haven't heard the song and B. you don't even know if that song still exists. Those were tentative titles from like 5 years ago! When someone puts together this thread of a fantasy lineup, you have to give generalities when you havent heard all the tracks. for instance:
1. Junglie
2. Maddy
3. New Song (rocker)
4. New song (ballad)

the present chinese democracy line was also used at leeds in 2002. we got three (so far the three best new songs - title track, blues, madagascar) and a greatest hits set.

Personally, I think they'll throw us a few REAL classics from the old band (WTTJ, SCOM, PC, Patience, KOHD, YCBM, LALD, Brownstone, Nightrain, It's So Easy, Rocket Queen and November Rain) just so that it "feels" like a Guns N' Roses concert... but the rest of the show should feature Chinese Democracy tracks.... this is NOT the forum or opportunity to be mining out "rare gems" from the UYI albums... as cool as that would be- it would just be a waste of stage time. They need to: (1) prove once again that the new band can "play the fvck" out of the GN'R classics that made the band world famous; AND (2) prove that CD is a kick ass album and that GN'R dominance is back. Anything else would be shooting wide of the mark.

For a rarities sake though..... I would love to see Tommy Stinson play/sing "Attitude". ok

Lastly, I remember the old band complaining that even they couldn't play Estranged properly live (still sounded cool to me!)- It would take months of rehearsals to get the new band to nail that one down... what's the point? They've got other more important sh1t to be practicing and perfecting right now... Plus, I think Axl's move passed Estranged as an artist now... he's got more chapters of the story to tell now (The Blues, Prostitute, TWAT, Better, etc.)...drool

Welcome to the Jungle
It's So Easy
Chinese Democracy
Civil War
You Could Be Mine
IRS
The Blues
Don't Cry
November Rain
Madagascar
Sweet Child O' Mine
Patience
Rocket Queen
* New Track * - The General or Prostitute or something
There Was A Time
Estranged
Nighttrain
* New Track * - Catcher in the Rye or something
Paradise City

I'd love to see Coma but I *HIGHLY* doubt that'll ever happen again.

this is a really good guess. i think the selection and even the order of the songs will be very close.
you listed 19 songs:
AFD - 6
Lies - 1
UYI - 5
New - 7

my guess would only have two changes from your list:
- KOHD instead of don't cry
- mr. brownstone instead of estranged.

No Live and Let Die!!!
I don't want to hear covers. No need. Its not like the band doesn't have enough songs of their own to choose from.

I'd really like to hear something totally surprising...
Used To Love Her? Coma Smiley? Breakdown... Or Shadow Of Your Love. Now THAT would be cool.

I really hope the new setlists are so heavy on the AFD songs. There's no need of Out Ta Get Me or Think About You or even Mr Brownstone. I also hope they switch up the setlists from night to night. At least then they could play all the AFD tehy want, but it doesn't necessarily all have to be every night.

Around 17-19... but with the length of a lot of the songs I imagine 17.

I'm in the very small minority that doesnt want to hear old stuff. Been there done that. He needs to play a shitload of new material. I've said this before, but I think he should do like Queensryche did on their Livecrime tour. Play your hits, some obscure songs from old albums, and play CD in its entirety in the middle of the show.

He did explain why the 2001-2 set was Appetite heavy: it was basically meant as Round 1 at the time; a chance for the band to get a feel for the core old material and for the fans to get to know and accept the band playing it.

I think he should stay clear of mid-vocal range stuff that he can't do well anymore, particularly Think About You. He has a strong bottom end for Chinese Democracy and So Easy and we all know his top end has gone through the roof but his weak points are the mid range verses on Jungle, and sadly, most of Sweet Child. He can't get away with not playing them he's gonna be under really heavy scrutiny this time around and he can't afford to get a reputation for having lost his voice and sounding shit live, which could easily happen.

There have been hundreds of threads on the boards about his voice in the last years with good reason and this time around he needs to work to his strengths and not give critics a chance to blast him. He DID sounds really weak on certain things in 2002 e.g. Sweet Child and the best way to fix that is sandwich those type of songs between ones he can show off on.

I tottaly agree with you that if his voice is going to sound miserable on a song he should just opt to play another one. We all know he has tons of options with how good the overall gnr catalog is....
