Die-hard GN'R fan here.  I've been in a GN'R mood lately, so I'm havin' GN'R marathon right now.  You're Crazy Lies version just came on.  Wow, that is awesome vocal range on that song, and it's not multi-layered tracks like Locomotive.  He's the best!

The acoustic version of You're Crazy is when Axl hit his peak vocally. His voice is absolutely perfect on the song, and he has yet to top it.

Locomotive rules.  I was just saying how it wasn't the same recording techniques used.

I couldn't agree more. Axl's vocals on Lies, even more than Appetite, were what made me expect so much from UYI (and why I was so let down). Lies (and You're Crazy and One in a Million, specifically) will always hold a very, very special place in my heart. Truly the hidden --- and all too brief --- masterpiece in GNR's discography.

Krispy Kreme, sorry mr sourpuss, but this thread is not 'a low.' 1200 posts about the greatest hits --- as though anyone here could possibly say anything useful about something that we still don't know for sure fully exists, let alone what songs, etc --- is typical of what makes this place so boring to me these days.

The accoustic part of Lies contains the best Axl vocals EVER. He sounds like Janis Joplin.

Surprisingly Axl didn't like the song since he thought that although the others were good, his voice 'sucked'.

I sure hope Axl doesnt have the same low self-esteem for CD's material vocally. Lies is just fucking brilliant.

That's common for musicians of Axl's calibre. Hendrix had the same problem. Never satisfied, never good enough - when it fact the result is some of the best music ever made. If it's not what he hears, then no one should hear it. Too bad...

You're Crazy rocks, but the acoustic and the live era version are a lot better than the AFD version.

I like AFD youre crazy's version. And a medley between the AFD and the lies version is excellent.
