I've read a lot of talk about "moshing" and "the pit" on here lately.  I was at Hammerstein, and I didn't see any moshing going on.  I really can't even think of a GN'R song you could mosh to, except for the middle part of 'Better', and maybe 'Paradise City'.  Just curious as to what everyone is expecting, since I've even seen a lot of people opt for seats over GA.

I don't think a full on pit will start. But I do expect lots of pushing, and crowd surfing. hihi

There was SOME at the May 15th show at the Hammerstein, but not much of it.  And I'd say maybe 10 to 15 people, total, were involved...and it was half-hearted at best.

With mostly GA floors at the shows I've looked at, I'd expect some...but wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any, either.

There was some slightly at the NYC shows, but nothing crazy.

The LV shows got a bit pushy, but the crowd reaction to it was very negative.

Overall I'm guessing not that much.

What was the deal with those guys that had their shirts off and were going mental even during the support act? rant

Crazies. They should have just gone and got a room.

Not a very big one - but there are songs you can mosh to:

You Could Be Mine
Better
My Michelle
It's So Easy
Nightrain
Chinese Democracy
Paradise City
Welcome to the Jungle (there's probably gonna be a rush when this gets played).

So long as people aren't being idiots during Sweet Child O' Mine or November Rain I'm fine with it.

There will be a rush to get to the front of the stage during the first 3 tracks which are Jungle, Easy, and Brownstone. Unless you're one of the geeks who line up before the doors open, this is the best opportunity to push your way to the front. As we all know Axl won't be going on till past 10, which means 11, so there's no need to show up too early, unless you want to see Mr Savage Animal. Once you get up front after the first three songs, things tend to mellow out when they get into more chilled songs like KOHD. Just make sure to go the washroom right before GnR comes on so you don't have to take a piss during the show and lose your spot.

And that is why I will be in the friendly confines of my 5th row reserved seating.  I am too old and kind of a wimp for that kind of stuff anymore.  If only if they were touring when I was in my early 20s, then I would have been in the pit with the rest of ya.

Been doing just that for more than 15 years.... still don't understand people getting up there too early and crushed while waiting for the main band to start...

Not moshing, but probably alot of pushing. Between the two san francisco shows, I had bruises/soreness for over a week from being pushed up against barricade/stage.
