sladdi (owner of newgnr.com and admin of cd.com forum) was dealing with the guy (velvet1223?) about the complete rehearsal. but after phrozen leaked the clip, velvet1223 cancelled the deal. that's what I heard.

so prhozeninferno has refused to take my advice and remove the clip from youtube, so thanks to him our chance was blown to obtain the VMA rehearsals in some way from Velvet,  moronic move.  Lets look at it from velvet's point of view, a day or 2 ago that footage was top secret, then the day after, someone pulls an idiotic stunt like that and in a day the footage is suddenly available for the whole world to see.   I mean, youtube of all places?! I'm sure it would only normally take half a brain cell to realise that that move would completely screw up the deal, I know alot of people wanna see it (including myself) but can't anything that we hear on the net maintain a certain level of secrecy?  If people are gonna keep going against the demands and wishes of people who have such rare stuff, we can say goodbye to ever getting anything from them.  I'm just saying, in future try and negotiate with them a bit better.

You really think your pm to velvet is going to earn his trust. Come on. This guy has been dealing with the big horders for ever. He is not going to care what you have to say.

Forget it the deal is off, In a few months people will try and buy it again. No way velvet is going to do anymore dealings with this issue being hot right now.

Plus this is a public site, he reads everything here.

nobody is getting wet pants, its just nice to see new footage that we've waited years to see!  I think the songs are played in full because if you look at gnrontour.com the songs are listed differently on both vma rehearsals and the actual vmas, one has the songs listed in commas and the other has the songs listed with forward slashes, surely implying bits of the songs were played the actual night and the whole songs were played at the rehearsals, ive heard its 40 minutes long, axl is dressed weird and theres a chance axl says many interesting things during the rehearsals, so its gotta be good in those ways surely

what he gonna say interesting? "Oh Robin is too low in the mix" or "Shut the fuck up and play the damn song Brain". regardless, enjoy the $1200 practice session and if you get it be sure to do a review for us...but i seriously think your hopes are way to high :peace: hey maybe you and the other hoarders could giggle on the phone together that none of us lesser fans have seen it :P

No you got shit, grow up kid.

I saw the threads last year and the year before and the year before. Including your post. Velvet has had many many conversation with guys trying to get stuff. Only people with money get anything out of him.

It is fact that others have bought from him before. I have all his contac info also. Big deal you sent him an email. I do not want it because I think 2002 was a nightmare to me.

GNR is active why would anybody be willing to pay money for something in the past. Especially 1200 bucks for this crap.

So what would you do with it when you get it. You would hord it also. Tell me you would not I already know you are a liar ?

It is fact that others have bought from him before. I have all his contac info also. Big deal you sent him an email. I do not want it because I think 2002 was a nightmare to me.

GNR is active why would anybody be willing to pay money for something in the past. Especially 1200 bucks for this crap.

So what would you do with it when you get it. You would hord it also. Tell me you would not I already know you are a liar?

would you give out all his contact info? cuz i need to talk to him more directly, this way id find all this out for myself

if u can not believe what this board tells u on him well that shows u do not trust no 1
the only reason cbgb ?got out is paul cromwell was selling on ebay he bought a dvd then the guy pffered cb's to him but it was a 13 dvd to 1 deal i know i was there i saw the mails i was part of it
jm and others tried to keep it hidden but we brought it out

Nope it is against the rules of the board? :hihi:

Plus you would not be fast enough to contact him, Axl would have his lawyers on him first
meaning what? velvet wouldnt have chance to respond to closer contact?

Meaning you and I are little fish in a big sea. You have no chance unless you got 1500 laying around to give away. It has been tries hundreds of times.

raising money to get to that goal only promotes more selling by tapers / horders / filmers.

A few hundred to cover cost is one thing more then that is selling and wrong

I wouldn't mind seeing this, though it's probably the least interesting sounding thing that velvet1223 has.

He actually has the rehearsals frm the Ritz 88 show as well, now THAT would be great to watch.

I'd like to see this in full, would give a great insight into the inner workings of the band at that time when there was so much secrecy and nobody knew what was going on.

i like bootlegs do not get me wrong i do pay for my share of stuff trust me.
i hate hoarders as well as the next guy.
but i do not believe it is worth 1200.00
i wanna see all boots but not for that price
we all have interests in what we like in boots. i like it all rehearsels demoes concerts. but i will not put out over 1200.00 for 40 min of stuff if the ritz was thrown in maybe .

My opinion on this..

Sure, would be a great item to have as a collectable. Pretty rare to find such extensive (Well I'm assuming this rehearsal footage lasts for about 40 minutes at least) footage of a band working behind the scenes, especially Guns N Roses and also considering the timeframe of when this event occured.. Would be cool to see how they work in rehearsals, what songs they did, what they were considering for the broadcast etc..

$1200? That's a shitload to pay just for some rehearsal footage. The fact that it has, to my knowledge been successfully ripped off from MTV vault / archives makes it one of those considerably rare videos that you could only dream about MTV releasing or some crazy plan of 'breaking into MTV and stealing it'.. but that is also the exact reason why you wouldn't want to commit a serious price like $1200 to purchasing it.. not only because that is a ridiculous amount of money to pay.. but the seller is hoarding MTV licensed material.. couldn't there be a legality involved?

As i say, While it would be fucking great to have this footage for its value and significance, especially with so many likeminded bootleggers/hoarders around, I don't think we want to humour them anymore in taking such a price offer seriously, and also, maybe it would be best for the sake of the fans and their money to bring this 'deal' to the attention of somebody working with the band..

I would die to watch the whole footage of this thing, but at the same time I think that we, the GNR-bootlegs fans, need to stop giving money to this people. This is getting more a more common, and we are in front of these ridiculous high prices with more every time with frequency. Someday, every bootleg, every person who records a show will come here and comfortably ask for money, without being banned or questiones by anyone.

But that is just my opinion. I will never pay (anymore, I did buy some bootlegs in the past) money for un-official stuff. I can support with some money a filmer (support, not payed vacations...), a tracker or a guy like Timebomb that bought a very expensive silver cd-set like ''Donington Micpad Massacre'' and then shared it with the whole trading community.. But that's my limit, and I think it's fair.

If we don't get it any other way this year then I think I'll be determined to pay just that $1200 (?600), it all depends on how much you want to see the rehearsals and I'd love to see it as you probably could tell earlier in this thread.  Not for some time I wont be paying that as it will take me a while to raise ?600.

gnr sucked in 2002. i'd rather just buy a boot from 2006.

Sellers love your attitude, keep it up. You are doing nothing but beating the drum for a few more people to jump in and offer you money to help out.

Can't we all stick together at all with this?  This thread is turning into a thread where people go out of their way to get onto others instead of focusing more on the subject in question!!

What is the subject in question? I thought it was how to get the rest of the footage, which to alot of us is not worth paying big money for.

Second of all what would you do with it once you got it? Would you immediately put on for everyone to enjoy or would you hord it ?

Well, I already downloaded the video, I already watched it and I already thanked the uploader... I also stated that I dont consider proper giving money (loads) to these parasytes.

You dont want people to say that we should not pay for it, do you?

Guaranteed it is not on any of the selling sites in japan.

f it was listed on any site on the net we would of found it by now. There will always be fake advertisements or people pretending, they have all been checked.
