If you could pick one guest star to go on stage with the band and do a song with 'em,  who would it be and what would the song be.

For me I'd love to see Chuck Berry hook up and start doing "Johnny B Good" - just love that song

I used to be jealous of the people that saw them with Skid Row opening in 91 because Bach used to come out and do "You're Crazy" alot with them. I always wished I'd seen that, so since I got to see him come do "My Michelle" this year, I guess that's close enough.

If I could pick one person living to come out and guest on a GN'R song I'd like to hear Pat Monahan guest on "The Blues"

If I had the same choice with a dead artist I'd like to hear Stevie Ray Vaughn come out and play on either "Used To Love Her" or "Civil War"

alright... if I had to pick a serious one, I would LOVE for Alice Cooper to come out and do his part in The Garden.  That is so unlikely to happen I know, but I really like what he adds to the song and live I think it would be great.

Or get Tom Arraya to come out and do I Don't Care About You.  That is even more unlikely to happen.

But if it weren't izzy...I'd say Alice Cooper and have them do "Under My Wheels" like on the soundtrack of dowc and "The Garden"

I would just like to change my answer to:

Tom Waits AND Bruce Willis.

That would be amazing. I love his rendition of "Under the Board Walk." I'd love to hear Axl sing with him on that song. Axl could play the part of the black guy who harasses Bruce Bruno at the beginning of the song. ("Hey, Bruno! Sing us some of 'dat song!" I believe is what he says.)

She's not textbook pretty, but she's very confident in her own skin, whether she's all dressed up for a video shoot or getting splattered with mud while watching her man on his motorcycle.  I find people like her much more attractive than "beauties" who have huge breast implants and wear a face full of makeup just to stand around and do nothing.

And now I'm wondering what song Axl and Pink would sound good singing together...? Maybe "Yesterdays"?

Meh...? I'll stick with my original answer: Axl and Robert Plant singing "D'yer Mak'er".? Twas Axl's MTV interview with Kurt Loder that gave me that idea.? Axl said that when that song came out, he was making fun of it in the morning, but by afternoon he was holding his portable radio to his ear, waiting for it to come on, so he could hear it again.

MJ was good when he was a black man singing R&B.  He officially hit the "suck" button when he became a white woman grabbing her crotch in the "Bad" video.

BTW, kudos to the poster who mentioned Juliette Lewis on "It's So Easy".  Segue from that into Axl and her singing "Hardly Wait" and I think I would die and go to heaven.

Mick Jagger w/ Axl -  Wild Horses

Elton John w/ Axl  -  Someone Saved My Life Tonight

I'd like to hear Jagger join in on a duet of one Stones tune and one obviously Stones influences GN'R tune.

Dead Flowers followed by Used To Love Her

bob zombie or iggy pop...

Meh...  I'll stick with my original answer: Axl and Robert Plant singing "D'yer Mak'er".  Twas Axl's MTV interview with Kurt Loder that gave me that idea.  Axl said that when that song came out, he was making fun of it in the morning, but by afternoon he was holding his portable radio to his ear, waiting for it to come on, so he could hear it again.

Wow,
I wrote in some thread about the faint resemblance between catch'er in the rye and the song but I didn't know this story.
how did he pronounce D'yer Mak'er?
One poster knew it!

It sounded like "Jamaica"...  "Jer maker" maybe?  However Robert Plant intended it.

I would love to see that.  Hopefully Axl and Bucket's relationship hasn't deteriorated past the point of no return.  Would love to see him onstage again one of these days.

what could ron thal really say though? He was brought into the band to play Buckets parts. It's like the rest of the band complaining about Izzy being brought out for some songs. You think any of em will speak up to axl?!  :hihi:

Anyways , just saying .. I'd like to see Bucket blast out his speedy Better parts live.

I didn't stop to think about the Cooper connection on that one either.

It'd be cool if Cooper came out to sing it with them whenever the hit whatever city he's living in these days.

Alice Cooper does live in Arizona, but I think he is on tour now.  I know that he is going to open for the Stones at some shows.

the edge or that guitarist from allmanbrothers...

Guests from different genres would be also cool.

I think he intended axl to pronounced it wrongly.   :P

Quote
"D'yer Mak'er (intended to be pronounced with a British non-rhotic accent as "jah-may-kah") is a song by Led Zeppelin, from their 1973 album Houses of the Holy. The name of the song is derived from Jamaica and is a play on words based on the joke, "My wife's on vacation in the West Indies." "Jamaica?" "No, she went of her own accord."  The title was chosen because it reflects the reggae flavor of the song. Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant has said that he finds it amusing when American fans pronounce the title as "Dire Maker."
