IRS and Better have to stay.? I know I'm in the minority on this, but I love IRS...still.

I love IRS too yes

For me it would be ... Rhiad and CD. Sorry, I love the leaked tracks too much.

I always thought Better was a "big gun"?

any how if we assume Rhiad and Silkworms are already shelved then...

CD and IRS ...

of course this would necessitate an album name change (maybe no bad thing)..? then the follow up album could be a re-worked Chinese Democracy..?

axl would not have to change the album title if he dropped chinese democracy; there is no song called appetite for destruction, lies, use you illusion, spaghetti i. or live era; but if cd is not on cd, then it's quite impossible that this track will appear on any other, later released gnr cd... well maybe as a b-side of a single from cd.

I always thought Better was a "big gun"?

wel the "big guns" were mentioned in 2002 i think...with the same thing as the songs we heard live wouldnt even be on the album...and the disk would have 18 tracks plus a bonus disk....4 years later @ the Korn part he said Betterwas one of his favs (along with IRS and Blues? correct me if i'm wrong) and there would be 13 tracks...

anyway what i'm getting at is that the album has obviously been in a near constant state of flux so old quotes are sometimes irrelivant peace

If I'd go with all songs performed on the 2006 tour...

IRS. That's an easy one.

And I know this will get me flamed, but...

The Blues.

I love the RIR3 version, but since then the song's lost some thrill for me. Now, if they'd put the RIR3 version to the album, that'd be a different story.

I agree 100 percent with what u said about The Blues. That song is the perfect example of how tinkering too much can actually destroy a song. It was perfect at RIR3, now its bland, slow and boring.....................

I say why dump two songs they can just extend the album!!!!!!!!!!!

Id dump Chinese Democracy and Rhiad

I like Silkworms better than both of those.

2 new songs does not have to make space for 'big guns'.

15 old songs does.

This I Love, and The General are the supposed big guns from what I remember.  I love Better and Madagascar, but I'm looking forward to the new songs more.

I suppose I am too, but only because I haven't heard the other songs.  See what I'm saying?  All things being equal, I love Better and Maddy so much I can't imagine 2 other songs being "better" (no pun intended).  Newer, maybe...but not better.

I think a better way (at least for me) to look at it is this:

How good is the leaked material and would I be disappointed not to hear final mixes of it?  The answer, for me, is yes...I'd be disappointed if all 4 leaks weren't on the album in finished format, because I so want to hear where those rough mixes end up going.  But I'd be less disappointed (and that's relative) if Catcher and TWAT were not there.

I have to say "The Blues" (not original enough in music or lyric) and "Chinese Democracy". I think the song is good, just not GNR - too grunge.

mhh. albums are normally not longer than 79 minutes; 13 songs are slated for the album... 6-7 of those we already know. so there's not much room left, considering that there are some real epics to come...

Chinese Democracy has gotta go. Sorry, opinions are opinions and my opinion is that song is bland psuedo-grunge. If I were a casual fan, saw the album on the racks and decided to listen to the title track first, I'd be really bummed.

If I had to pick another song to be eliminated I'd say Madagascar...I think it's a good song but I like The Blues and TWAT better...it also reminds me a bit too much of Stairway to Heaven at times (Am-G-F chord progression, common in rock n' roll, but like I said, the other ballads stand out more to me).

All I know is if CD includes Better, I.R.S., TWAT and The Blues, you will be seeing a lot of four and five star reviews in the press.

Although a slim chance, I think it would be awsome if The Blues, Mad, and CD maybe Silkworms ?turned out to be B-sides or a promo EP of some sort just because they have been around for a long time.

Personally, I'd laugh my ass off if Axl changed the name of the album, put it out, and told every that Chinese Democracy was going to be delayed another year.

Just to be a prick to the critics..

hihi that would sure piss alot of people off,but it would be fuckin' funny  rofl

I really wish for that, to me it's the weakest of all the new songs excluding Silkworms...It doesn't have to be on the album it could come out later like "Hoses of the Holy"

Won't happen, couple the album title with it being an almost permanant song in the recent setlist.

I'd sacrifice CITR and The Blues.  Both songs skate dangerously close to adult alternative.

Pretty sure most of the big guns we have already heard, at least the ones that Axl said were big guns.  Based on Bach's statements i would guess that there are some other big tracks as well, but I am guessing Axl isnt hording some amazing tracks, I think Better, the Blues and TWAT were probably his favorite.

hihi   altho I'm not sure what adult alternative is, I think I know what you mean.
I wouldn't say that to CITR.

I don't mind at all if there're a few songs or even several that aren't my cups.
