Estranged............The Guns n' Roses Story

For all the computer experts:

When the address is typed in..............Why the long pause? Why does it act like it wants to open? It acts like it wants a password of something to activate it.

I know............I heard that Axl owns this domain name and all.

What is he wating for? Why has he never opened it for the public?

Does anyone think it's there to see? Is there a code to be cracked to get in?

Ya, I'm bored.

No.

There are DNS servers which return an IP address for a domain lookup (when you type in the address www.gunsnroses.com, the first thing it does it try and contact those DNS servers for the ip address associated with the address).  The delay is caused by your ISP's DNS server querying the three DNS servers configured for gunsnroses.com to see if any of them have an ip.

None of them do.

So, if there is some sort of gunsnroses.com site setup, you can't access it via that domain.

there is no coresponding website. Axl's managment, or someone claiming to be Axl's managment, owns the domain name but doesn't have that domain hosted.

In other words tht domain name doesn't resolve to anything.
That is all.

Complete thread lockdown...........t-minus 1:09 and counting...............

As other posters have said, already, there is NO DNS associated with the site at this point.  If memory serves, it WAS open, briefly, at one point, but was closed down in relatively short order.  I have a feeling the band owns the url more to keep others from using it rather than THEM having any plans to actually use it.

Don't know. As you know, the record needs to be finalised, then the record company, along with Axl, will sort out a release schedule

The site, as is stands, is 'server-less' (excuse my made up word). Once it is activated, it'll be based on the Sanct' servers like the TS site.

On the website gunsnrosesonline.com, there is a link under official sites as gunsnroses.com, however when you click it, nothing comes up.  Does anyone know why it would be an official website if there isnt any page that comes up?

I clicked it and you were right , the website didnt start now!

I think they are speculating that it will eventually become the main official GNR website when the webmaster @ gnronline.com has to retire due to all the stress involved in maintaining said site.

I remember talk going on that Uncle Axl actually owns gunsnroses.com though.  ok
