I really like this topic. As a new schooler interested in old school rock n' roll.. definitely...

The Doors, Rolling Stones, The Beatles (though I half like Sgt Pepper but otherwise... eh...not that interesting) Queen especially, hate Night at the Opera, hate Bohemian Rhapsody, arg,) ACDC (they're okay, but it's all the same shit and I don't voluntarily listen to it), Kiss sucks ass (but Rock n' Roll Over is okay) totally don't understand the Kiss phenomenon, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin is good but pretentious and overrated, Pantera, Meat Loaf sucks ass. Imagine my disappointment, finding Bat out of Hell in my parents' basement as a kid, not knowing what Meat Loaf was, thinking, Bat out of Hell?? woah this sounds so cool! put it in and.. oh, the disappointment. Sex Pistols. U-Fucking-2!!!

Ur absolutely right!

I bought Ok computer a while back and was just blown away by it, and Pablo Honey and The Bends also score top marks - their style just clicked with me one day - guess i wasn't depressed enough to like them before!

Also really into Pink Floyd - went from really not liking them to them being my favourite band - nothing touches them

Damn right nothing touches them! don't understand how so many people can not like this band. listen to echoes that song kicks ass for 23 minutes.
as for the topic i never really got into The Beatles, and I really tried, i have rubber soul and some other albums but i don't listen to that at all. what a waste of money that was!

I acknowledge the greatness, accomplishments and talent of the following bands/musicians but I would rather pour dog urine into my ears than listen to them:

Pearl Jam - Vedder sounds like a man in serious need of an enema.

Soundgarden - SPOON-mannn!!!!!  Enough said.

Bad Company - I just threw up after writing that.

Eagles - more when Don Henley sings; if you ever want to kill me, play Hotel California.

Billy Joel - I hate him and everything that he stands for and represents.  On that note - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4...

Pink Floyd
The Eagles
Kiss - I really hate them, but they've got some good stuff.
Rush - some stuff sounds good, but the voice is pretty damn annoying!

then a couple I wouldn't call classic greatest bands, but they've been mentioned a lot

Radiohead
Nine Inch Nails

Loved the Beatles but couldn't get into Paul McCartney as a solo artist.

Not a shot at D, but Bon Jovi just never clicked with me. I loved Richie Samboras first solo album, but it just didnt carry over.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - They have some good songs but never heard anything that made me want to buy a CD

AC/DC - Yes thay are true legends, but it all sounds the same to me

Almost forgot Motley Crue. Best thing they did was getting John Corabi. Worst: Taking Vince back.

Hm, Pink Floyd would be one of them. Can't listen to most Beatles stuff, except for a few songs. I literally walk out of the bar if somebody puts on any John Lennon solo things, worst is 'imagine'. Happened to me just the other week, enjoying my scotch, some stupid bartender decides it is time for 'Imagine'. Left the bar, only came back when my husband assured me the song was done. You'll get the same reaction out of me with 'Hotel California' and 'Everybody hurts'.

I'm not too keen on Iron Maiden, although Eddie is great. Never liked it, probably never will. Can't really put my finger on why not, I just don't.

think that's it. I have quite a broad taste in music. I even liked that 'hit me' britney spears song  no So, don?t take my advise on music  hihi

I like this thread.

I'll say Pearl Jam.? I used to hate them until three years ago when I bought Ten on a whim.? I love that album now, but the rest of their material just doesn't do it for me (okay, so I also like Daughter and Do the Evolution, but other than that, no).

In high school, I would've said U2, but I've really gotten into them over the past few years.

Some others are Coldplay (it seems like everyone likes them nowadays, but I really can't get into them), Linkin Park (I hate these guys), and to a lesser extent, Kiss.? Kiss is alright, but I really think the stage antics, persona, and aura surrounding the band is ridiculous.? They think of themselves as the greatest metal band of all time, while their musical talent is mediocre at best (well, Paul Stanley does have a huge vocal range, he just doesn't use it with the band).

I don't like U2's '90's stuff - so bland, but loved their 80's efforts, some of my absolute favourite music

Don't you like anything off Achtung Baby or Zooropa. I think that's when the band hit it's peak, but after taht, yeah they've gone really bland.

Couldn't agree with you more, they put out their finest album in 1994, shame they went back to being sucky again after that.

Pearl Jam is a band where it takes time to get into them. Even with Ten, it was the same way. To me, if anybody, told me that they liked 2 single songs that Pearl Jam did from 1993 to now, I would swear that we weren't listening to the same band. Ten and Vs. were awesome but Pearl Jam has done a lot of other stuff that is just great. Kujo will tell you.

Also, Pearl Jam is the last of the grunge bands, so they deserve respect for sticking around.

---

As far as classic bands I can't get into, I would say U2, I can't stand them.
