I?ve been listening a lot of The Libertines lately and few songs from Baby Shambles.
Just wondering if anyone?s a fan here.
Favourite songs, videos/bootlegs, links, news, anything?
Normally, I?m not a big fan of the music style (or maybe i haven?t been listening that kind of a music much), but i?ve got a thing for Pete Doherty...

He's pathetic - strange that in the 80's his druggie ways would have made him popular....

At least when rockstars reach his level they've like had a career, Pete's done the drugs the dumbass just forgot most of the music.

Indeed - he's famous as an addict not as a singer.....

Well over here they get talked about a lot - but no one seems to have actually heard them, its as if the media knows of them and just assumes we do to....

I'm still trying to figure out why the media care so much about docherty so much. The music isn't bad, but its hardly reinventing the wheel nor is it particularly done well for what it is.
good on him for shaggin kate moss tho.

I head The Libertines, when i was visiting my cousin over a holiday. Never heard them before. First i thought, it?s just boring britpop/indie nonsense, not my kind of a music at all. She played their music like 24/7. Then i started to like Time For Heroes and What A Waster. Cant Stand Me Now sounded pretty funny too.
I didn?t know who Pete Doherty was, he?s not famous here. When i saw hes picture, i remembered reading about him and Kate Moss in some tabloid mag, and him playing with Elton John at Live 8.

I think he's
world famous
in the UK.....
I didn't know about his music either or who he was until I was told about his past and then realized I had read about him.

I've been listening to the Libertines a lot lately. Its not too bad. It grows on ya. Of course if you don't like that type of music you won't like them at all. Babyshambles are cool too. I've downloaded a bunch of the babyshambles cause they don't have a cd yet. If anyone is curious about the Libertines, check out Can't Stand Me Now, it's a great tune. But Pete did get kicked out of the band for doing to much H. Sounds a little familiar to me.

Now i have bought/ordered both of their albums, still waiting Up The Bracket to arrive.
Anyways, the lyrics are brilliant, weird though.
Here?s few of my favourites:
"Yes it's eating no it's chewing me up
It's not right for young lungs to be coughing up blood
Oh it's all
It's all trouble in my hands
And its all up the walls
Well the stale chips are up and the hopes stakes are down
Its these ignorant faces that bring this town down
Yeah I sighed and sunken with pride
I passed myself down on my knees
Yes I passed myself down on my knees"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"What a waster, what a fucking waster
You pissed it all up the wall
Round the corner where they chased her
There's tears coming out from everywhere
The city's hard, the city's fair
Get back inside you've got nothing on
No you mind yer bleedin own you two bob cunt
When she wakes up in the morning
She writes down all her dreams
Reads like the book of revelations
Or the Beano or the unabridged ulysses
Oh I really wanna know
So tell me, where does all the money go
where does all the money go
Straight, straight up her nose"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"You know you've got it the wrong way round
You shut me up, and blamed it on the brown
cornered the boy, kicked out at the world
The world kicked back a lot fucking harder now
Have we enough to keep it together
Or do we just keep on pretending
And hope our luck is never ending"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Another secret for ya
I?ve been told if you want to make it in this game
You got to have the luck
You got to have the look"

Babyshambles make successful return to London
"Band joined by Wolfman at Brixton gig
Pete Doherty was joined by his friend Wolfman on stage last night (October 11) as Babyshambles made a successful return to Brixton Academy almost eight months after their last show at the venue descended into chaos.
The pair performed a duet of the track named after Wolfman together during a 70-minute set which culminated with Doherty diving into the crowd, before he returned to the stage with his shirt in tatters, for closing number 'My Darling Clementine'.
Throughout most of the show the singer remained fairly composed and said very little as the band performed a series of tracks from their forthcoming debut album 'Down In Albion', including 'Pipe Down', 'Stix And Stones', and 'Albion'.
The biggest cheers were reserved for Top Ten hit 'Killamangiro' and 'Fuck Forever', which saw the crowd singing the words back to Doherty.
The former Libertine was then joined by Wolfman, who was greeted with huge cheers when he arrived on stage during the encore and took up the vocal duties on 'Wolfman'.
Doherty meanwhile preoccupied himself with the crowd, lifting a girl up in the air while she guzzled a can of beer.
Babyshambles will round off their 'Pipe Down' tour with dates at Norwich UEA, Coventry Colosseum and the KOKO club in London later this week."

He's a druggie? Plenty of people are.
Is his music good? No.
Well, with Michael Barrymore, Gary Glitter and yer man who did Stars In Your Eyes all keeping their heads low, the british public need someone to talk about.
Interestingly enough though, not many people who know his name, know what he actually does. I didn't until I was mistaken for him.

More Babyshambles news. This time not so good.
Eventhough i might be the only one who?s interested. But hey, you can always civilize yourself.
"
Babyshambles cancel remaining UK dates
Three shows are axed
Babyshambles have cancelled the last three shows on their UK tour.
Pete Doherty's band have axed gigs in Norwich, Coventry and at London's KOKO this weekend.
Announcing the cancelations, the band issued the following statement:
"Due to a very heavy touring schedule and the constant pressure and continued harassment from outside sources, the band have unfortunately made the decision to cancel the shows this weekend in Norwich (Oct 14), Coventry (15) and London 's KOKO (16 Oct).
"The decision has not been taken lightly and the band apologises to their fans for any inconvenience caused, especially to those in Norwich as this gig has already been rescheduled from the October 2 after Peter was held by the police in Shrewsbury (October 1) and was unable to make the journey from Shrewsbury to Norwich in time. Refunds will be available from point of purchase."
The band meanwhile expect to release their debut album 'Down In Albion' on November 14"
