The Darkness

My heart missed a beat when I read the first four words of that headline. It's not what I'd hoped though, just another guy with the same name, playing bass for The Darkness, and now I'm feeling disheartened

The long lost Manic....let's face it, abandoned car next to a suicide spot, credit cards and passport still in room - he's playing guitar somewhere, but sadly not on earth. Sadly missed - when he went he took the Manics ability with him

Sadly missed, but The Manics are still great
They haven't topped The Holy Bible though. Ah well. Hey I didn't even know The Darkness lost their bassist, but I don't follow their fortunes much anyway.

Neither did i! How did that slip under the radar
As for the Manics still being great - i'd love to agree but when u compare Generation Terrorists, Gold against the Soul and Holy Bible to the later stuff.....they wrote such good riffs and some great solos, and then became indy

Yeah, it's true. I really enjoy a lot of their post-Richey material though, but admittedly not as much as I enjoy the music made with him around. I'm going to now give Ifwhiteamerica.... a good thorough listening

from wikipedia
The Darkness are currently working with legendary rock producer Roy Thomas Baker, known for his work with Queen for their second album (which is reportedly to be released in October 2005). In the meantime Justin Hawkins has recorded an album under the pseudonym British Whale.

British Whale is his solo project.
He's only into The Darkness right now and their new album is coming soon.
Not the hardest rocking band, but a definite favorite of mine...

The Darkness' comeback single has been titled ?One Way Ticket?.
The track, the first to be lifted from the band?s untitled second album, is set for release on November 14.
The album will follow two weeks later on November 28.
Sessions for the album have gone on for much of the year. Bass player Frankie Poullain left the band in May over 'musical differences'.
He was replaced by Richie Edwards who was previously employed by the band as Dan Hawkins? guitar tech.
