I just got my PC upgraded (new 200gb harddrive,? to 1gm ram and 128 ATI Radeon Video Card) with an XP Home (Service Pack 2) system.

The small text appearing in the start menu, internet explorer menu bar etc. is appearing really somewhat bluured and appears to have lost its sharpness. I have adjusted to the correct resolution and have tried using the tool in the display options to adjust the size of the screen etc. but no luck.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks!

go to www.ati.com and download the newest drivers for your card and install them

if that does not fix the problem.. try

Open Display in Control Panel.
On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts check box.
Click ClearType in the list.

if still same try using standard

well actually try this before reinstalling your driver....or installing a new driver... though it is good practice to udate your drivers

First update the ATI display driver if you haven't already, also try to manually adjust your monitors phase.

Problem was solved in the end by Display > Settings > Advanced > Monitor and adjusting the monitor refresh rate.
