Good news on the horizon tomorrow? I hope so. the nfl is essentially a year-round sport and we were robbed of alot of the off-season. but it's crazy to think that a huge chunk of that excitment will now be condensed into a few weeks. we're gonna go from absolutely nothing happening for about 3 months to an insane flurry of activity. it's gonna be interesting. and more importantly, no regular season games will be missed.

I take Mendenhall out of the mix for his ridiculous comments about Bin Laden, but maybe that's just me.  Not sure if McFadden can continue on like he did last year.  If that was likely, I'd probably go with him.  But I think Desean Jackson is a safer bet.

Favre has insisted he's done playing football, but after several years of flirting with retirement, talk has spread that he could return. On Saturday, Philadelphia radio station WIP-AM reported that the Eagles were interested in signing Favre as a backup to starter Michael Vick, assuming current backup Kevin Kolb would be traded. Vick later tweeted that he would be honored to have Favre as his backup, then took down the post.

Favre spent most of his offseason at home in Hattiesburg, Miss., and has said he hasn't made a decision on his future. He suffered through an injury-plagued season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2010, throwing for 2,509 yards and 11 touchdowns with 19 interceptions.

One of Favre's old Green Bay Packers teammates -- former Pro Bowl wide receiver Sterling Sharpe -- didn't rule out a Favre return in an interview on NFL Network, saying it's "definitely possible" the quarterback could be open to signing with the Eagles.

"I think that (Eagles coach) Andy (Reid) and Brett, probably of all the coaches that are still in the league that he was around in Green Bay, he probably still has the best relationship with," Sharpe said. "And there's a good chance that Brett Favre will get a chance to play based on the fact of how Michael (Vick) plays, he's a mobile quarterback, he takes a lot of hits.

"I don't remember the last time Michael Vick played in all 16 games, so there's a chance that Brett Favre would get in a game and have to play."

Favre holds the NFL records for passes completed (6,300) and attempted (10,169), passing yards (71,838), passing touchdowns (508) and passes intercepted (336). He also tops the list in games started (298), sacks taken (525) and fumbles (166).

When asked by NFL Network's Rich Eisen what would compel Favre to get off the tractor in Mississippi to be a backup, Sharpe harkened back to his own experiences.

"Hey Rich, being an old Georgia farm boy, I've been on a tractor, and it's grossly overrated, let me tell you," he said.

My Vikings have a deal in place to nab McNabb!!!
Pinch me, I'm fucking dreaming!  It's real!  A rumored 6th or 7th rounder, plus the 'skins kicking money in.
Now if Donovan's smart, he will agree to a realistic 2 year deal with the Vikes.
YES!
(hopefully this will get Sidney Rice's attention and make it more likely he'll stay in Minny)

btw, on D's choices:  I'd stick with Mendenhall...unless you get special teams points for D-Jax.  I just don't think Run DMC is durable enough to give you points for a whole season.
Overall, I'd lean Mendy.
p.s. I could give a sh!t what these knuckleheads say off the field, if they put up consistent fantasy points, that's all that matters.

My Jets have some tough choices to make. Lots of top free agents and not much cap space. Sanchez says he'd restructure to save more money. So far their top priority is Holmes and are interested in Asomugha. I'm not sure we could pull that one off but could you imagine a Darelle-Asomugha tandem? Ouch for opposing quarterbacks.

I heard that on the way into work this morning.  If I'm NY, I say go for it.  Doing it though takes money off the table they could use for Holmes.
I still look at Sanchez as a Brad Johnson/Trent Dilfer/Eli Manning caretaker qb.
Build that Gang Green defense.  Jam Shonn Greene and LT up their asses and beat the shit out of the other teams' offenses.
Go 12-4 and ride that defense like a mutha fucka.

Yeah, i'm just not sure we can free up enough money for it. Tannembaum is known for being creative with his contracts but he may want more then we can free up. He does seem to have interest in playing in New York and for Ryan. So maybe that lure could persuade him to take a creative deal.
I don't know about that. I mean he's still young only gonna be his third year. So whoknows what is full potential will be yet. If he is that type i can live with it. You give him weapons and a great defense he can win with that, Eli did. Knowing Ryan that's his plan though.  Grin

Seems like we've been talking about it for 2-3 years, Axl4Prez, but McNabb is now a Viking. Your thoughts?

Well, it appears the jets have reached a deal with Holmes. 5 years $50 million $24 guaranteed. I'm glad we kept him. He was a big target for Sanchez.

on paper grabbing Nnamdi looks great.. but i don't know bout committing that much cap to another CB when u can get Cromartie back for prob half the price and he did pretty good last year. could spend that money on that offense. defense wasn't the problem.
