Paradise city for my dear sister

a sad post from me.
been away for the last few weeks, had to dash to Australia as my dear sister (-in-law, but sister in every other sense) passed away on March 23rd.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago and my god she fought a fierce battle. She stayed incredibly strong for her son and husband and she was just a wonderful, amazing, cool person whose strength and humour in the face of her illness were just awe-inspiring

I am so sad she has gone, but thankful the suffering and pain she was enduring is over.  She was a wonderful friend to me and we shared many drunken nights talking about GnR.  Last year she went to what was her last gig -  GnR (in Adelaide) - Drs said she shouldnt go, wasnt well enough - but she told them to get fucked and went anyway.  She was texting me from the Ent Centre about how amazing Axl looked and sounded and how she wished we could have been there together.   At her funeral, we showed a number of photos of Cate through the years set to her choice of song - Paradise City.    Hearing Paradise city blaring out for her at the funeral service had me so torn up - but smiling as well, Cate rocked it hard to the end.  There is truely a new star in the sky now.

Oh babydolls!  I'm so sorry...if she was half as cool as you, she must have been an amazing person.  My heart goes out to you...you know I'm here for you.

At least she was strong throughout her battle. Seeing her frail and sickly would've been horrible. I'm sorry you had to lose her. Too many deaths around this place recently.

But it sounds like she lived life to its fullest in her last years.

thanks for your messages guys, its helped me writing about it.  She certainly lived her 36 years to the max - last time my husband was with her (in Jan) she was making sure other people had food at a new year's party at 3am and regretting having an extra glass of champagne - this was only 2 months before she passed away - never one to give up or miss a moment - she is a complete inspiration.
