http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=7176

Also, December 15, 1988 -- Melbourne, Australia, great show, I have the CDs and video for this show, it was good as the Ritz.

Appetite For Destruction:

Ritz 1988
Shot by MTV so the quality is excellent

Use Your Illusion:
Paris 1992
Pro-shot Pay Per View show

Are you saying those two doesn't exist on CD?  :P

They have excellent sound and that's what you want on a bootleg.

No, I am saying that you didn't mean CD when you replied.  If you did, you wouldn't have bothered to mention that it was "shot by MTV" and "pro-shot".  Those terms are moot when it comes to CD bootlegs.   Admit it Jarmo, you are human after all and capable of flubbing once in awhile.  :hihi:

Yeah, it's a great show, but the quality is not A-. More like B+ at best.

Speaking of great sound, let's not forget Oklahoma 4.92 and Chicago 4.92, both are soundboard, and the latter of which has Coma. Also, Argentina 7.17.93 which is soundboard and a great acoustic set.
Indiana 5.27.91 is soundboard and great too; first time for November Rain played live.

I have that, great show.

Also, if you're looking for rarities, go for January 23, 1991 (Rio Night 2), which contains the only live performance of "Bad Apples".

Well the 3CDs set of that show are remastered so IMO is A-, but sometimes quality is relative.  :peace: : ok:

Great shows, I believe the Indiana is from 29.05.1991. And I just love the DTJM performance in the Live in Argentina bootleg, simply awesome. :D
I may add:

05-12-92 Estadio River Plate, Buenos Aires, Argentina

superb sound quality. :peace:

Sorry, dude, I have silver CDs of 5.27.91 show and they are soundboard. You can come to my house and listen to them. They cost me a lot on ebay some time back, but I have them in my collection. : ok:

It's an Italian import, and I probably bought it on ebay in 1999. Produced in 1991. Life is good when you have rare soundboards! :peace:

In line with what Limulus said, some corrections for some of the know-it-alls on here :

- There was NO show on 27/05/91.  28/05/91 is an audience recording and 29/05/91 was filmed by GNR's video crew, all audio copies are sourced from the vhs and are thus NOT truly soundboard.

- In the case of 28/06/87, only 'It's so easy', 'KOHD' and 'Whole lotta Rosie' have surfaced and were officially released on the LFTJ EP.  'Shadow of your love' and 'Move to the city' are taken from the LLAS sessions and are studio recordings with fake audience sound.

- As I said before, 29/05/91 is not truly soundboard, which is also the case for the show in Chicago on 09/04/92, which is also sourced from a vhs filmed by GNR's video crew. 06/04/92 is a true soundboard recording though.

- The complete second night at RIR II has surfaced, soundboard, but with voiceovers from radio commentators.  It was released as 'Maracana XP' on Aces High.

This explanation is bullshit. If it sounds like a soundboard (and the difference is obvious) then it is a soundboard.

What is "not truly a soundboard"? Either it is soundboard or it is audience.

You jealousy wanna bees make me sick. You diss what you don't have because you want it but don't have it.

And from where is your information? God? Axl? I say you are wrong, and I have the goods to prove it.
Why don't you just.....

You know, I have just about had it with some of the people on this board. They make me sick. Especially newbees who think they know it all and who are intolerably arrogant.

First there was AG who tried to tell me I don't know how to play a DVD or how to tell the difference between a defective DVD and a non-defective DVD. He tried to tell me my players were at fault. Funny how players can change set lists and cut songs from concerts.

Now I have Nikkisuckoff telling me I don't have what I know I have. I feel as if I have entered the twilight zone. Where do these people get off telling others what they have and don't have? Next they'll be telling us what to think and what to dream.

I have had enough. Say what you want, make up what you want, diss what you want, whatever. I am going to listen to my soundboard recordings in the comfort of my own home, and the rest I just don't care. All I can say is that such people are pathetic. Get a life, or, failing that, make one up.

Funniest post ever  : ok:

'If it sounds like a soundboard (and the difference is obvious) then it is a soundboard.'

You're joking right ?  A clear audience recording can sound like a soundboard recording, but that doesn't make it a soundboard.  If you want to believe that though, go right ahead, you'll be pissing off a lot of real traders though with your incorrect listings.

'You jealousy wanna bees make me sick. You diss what you don't have because you want it but don't have it.'

Another joke ? Me a newbie ?  You obviously don't know the first thing about me, which proves you know shit about trading.  I'd say go take a look at www.gunsnroses.be, you'll see I have every show mentioned in this thread, and more.  Way more.  I might be a 'newbie' on this forum,  but that's just because I only post to clear up mistakes like your posts.

'And from where is your information? God? Axl? I say you are wrong, and I have the goods to prove it.
Why don't you just..... '

I get my information on show dates from official tour itenaries and programmes, like any real trader does.  I don't have look up any dates though, since all dates are common knowledge among real traders.
If you can prove the impossible, I'll bring some of my friends and we can all witness a miracle...

'You know, I have just about had it with some of the people on this board. They make me sick. Especially newbees who think they know it all and who are intolerably arrogant.'

I'm sorry to correct you, but if you don't know what you're talking about, then don't post.  Don't come complaining afterwards about people correcting you.  I'm sorry to be right...
And now I'm intolerably arrogant?  How about your PM then :

What is your problem? Calling me a know it all? Far from it. I simply responded with concrete information that I thought was true. Maybe it is 5.28.91 instead of 5.27.91 Who cares? The CD cover says 5.27. So fucking sue me. I may have been wrong about the date, but I know soundboard. And at least I am not ARROGANT AND AN ASSHOLE.

Do not even bother to respond to me you cock sucker. I will not read of answer. Fuck off .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Maybe it is 5.28.91 instead of 5.27.91 Who cares? The CD cover says 5.27.'

If you actually mean this I'm so sorry for you.  EVERYBODY cares.  NO ONE likes wrong listings, if you're going to go around telling you have 27/05/91  you'll make a fool out of yourself, so don't bother.

You have too much faith in bootlegs.  They're KNOWN for incorrect labelings.  If you were something of a trader you'd know that.  There's a boot called 'live in the philipines '91'.  GNR never played the philipines.  Get my point ?

Maybe another example.  My nirvana boot 'Digital Nirvana' says 'true soundboard recording' though the taper affirmed it to be a clear audience recording.  But I guess you know better right?

Maybe YOU should consider how sick you make other people...

It's not a true soundboard recording if it's sourced from VHS... Besides, sourced from old VHS usually means mono recording. And if someone here seems to be arrogant prick then it's you.

Ok, you say that you have the "goods to prove it". Then prove it!

When it comes to bootlegs, I wouldn't say I'm a newbie either... when it comes to posting on this forum, I admit it: I am a newbie. That's it.

Krispy Kreme, cool it with the insults.

Looks like other traders are saying you're wrong, why not just accept it instead of trying to insult them?

If you believe whatever the bootleggers tell you, then I bet you have Chinese Democracy tracks in your collection too. Did you hear Prostitute yet?  :hihi:

most of the old "soundboards" are vhs sourced from leaked out/broadcasted pro-shots. this does make it "video soundboard" as the CD(R)s are from the vhs audio. but who knows which generation vhs and equipment/editing for vhs -> cd(r) transfer has been used for ? in early 90s private equipment wasnt good for that job.
the very best unofficial soundboards are sourced from mixing pult directly to DAT/CDR -> dED. looking at neo's list that would only be the case for 2002 shows and tokyo92 digital sourced from LDs and probably argentina'92. all the rest is vhs or radio sourced mostly including some a(nalog)/d(igital) and/or d/a transfer or other compression which suffers quality.
there are some good vhs -> CD(r) transfers and cool radio broadcasts taped digitally though.

PS:
oklahoma92 is most likely sourced from a "real" vhs gen2 (many wrong listings about that), check the glitch in slash solo/nov. rain and compare to all vhs/dvd around.

Hi folks. In regard to the 4/9/92 show?my personal fav. GNR concert, b/c/ of Coma, a blistering WTTJ, and an amazing Estranged?Im just wondering if there is a source that does not cut out during paradice city? Its a shame to have such a good show be so rudely cut!

BTW, Im a long time visiter of Jarmo's site?which is great? an off and on lurker at this board, and a long time GNR fan. So, hi. :smoking:

Another joke ? Me a newbie ?  You obviously don't know the first thing about me, which proves you know shit about trading.  I'd say go take a look at www.gunsnroses.be, you'll see I have every show mentioned in this thread, and more.  Way more.  I might be a 'newbie' on this forum,  but that's just because I only post to clear up mistakes like your posts.

Well, just an average collection, nothing really special.

Do you have it? or do you know anyone who has it? I'm really interested in trading it.

Out of the shows I have, April 4th 1992 at Rosemont Horizon, Chicago is by far the best.  Most boots of this show have Paradise City cut out at the end off the soundboard version (Most Ive come across anyway), but my copy has an Audience version of PC spliced in to make it a complete show.  The band was on fire, and sounded great!!

Well, yesterday I wen?t to a bootleg store.

They had at least 8 diferent Gnr, a lot of them
were from concerts in the USA.
I remember I was between two of them:
It was either the Argentina 92 duble cd called Argentina
Haters or another one  wich had
      diferent concerts one was from
stevens  las concert and the other one with izzys last
concert.I was going to choose  this last one.
But, yes people there?s a but, until that point I had
been choosing for the song lists, but haven?t heard
them now I was going to hear them.
Pity, the onewith stevens and izzys last concert
sounded like a pice of crap and izzy sanged horrible
in 14 years, it destroyed me.
And then I heard Argentina and it sounded amazing!!!
   It?s like a A-!!! : ok:
It?s the best GnR  bootleg I?ve heard, I cose this one
Here?s the song and in some songs some
     especifications.
    Cd 1:
1-Introduction (before the typical "from hollywood guns
n?roses" the traducer says: "Please stop throwing
things to the stage  or the band won?t play)
    2-Welcome to the Jungle
    3-Mr. Brownstone
    4-Live and Let Die
    5-Attitude (Duff on vocals!!)
    6-Blues jam 1
    7-Yesterdays
8-Duble Talking Jive (before the song starts Axl says
something about people who say  he is an
anti-argentinian and a bout a person who wanted
    screw the concert)
    9-Slash solo 1
  10-Civil War
  11-Wild Horses
  12-Patience
13-Nightrain (before Gilbys solo Axl scrams: Stop!!
and the band stops. He says: We got some really
fucking stupid people here.We don?t think
throwing things to the stage will help us to
make a better show.If you keep  doing that we?ll
go home.Dont try me.Shall we keep playing or shall
we go home?? and they continue.
      Cd 2:
   1-It?s alright
   2-November Rain
   3-Matt solo
4-You could be mine (in the midle axl tells the band to
stop again and says: this is the last time I worn
you.If any of us gets hiten by a something like this
We wll fucking go home!!If you see anyone throwing
      things kick his fucking ass!!)
   5-Blues Jam 2
   6-Them from the Godfather

GNR Unplugged because of it having the second to last GNR Concert from Buenos Aires on it and the awesome performance from CBGBs in 1987.

The CBGJs show is ALL acoustic and has the first live peformance of Patience ever (Second ever time played by the band according to Axl on there), The rare One in a Million performance, Mr. Browstone done acoustic, and Last of all how raw Axl's voice sounded on there

The Ritz 88 sound great
RIR 2 Both Nights
Paris and Argentina 92

I guess the perfect show to find in a dvd would be:
03.08.1991? Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA? 3 CDR A-
It?s so complete, maybe just missing Coma and perhaps So Fine might be good, But it?s such a great track list. Would pay alot of money for that video :).

I would love to have those 3 cds, where can i get them? or maybe if someone could upload
Perfect Crime, Locomotive
and maybe Double Talking Jive/Welcome to the Jungle RIR 2 first night Jan 20th
If some one would be able to do this would really appreciate it :)

imo the very best old gnr bootleg available is "self destruct era" (12.07.88 tokyo, japan released by aces high))
it`s far better than live era and really represents the afd-era gnr.  the sound and the performance are unbelievable.
the ritz '88 chicago, tokyo and paris '92 and hardfordt and buenos aires '93 are cool, too.

I dont really know about the best one.. but I think that all of the 1986-1988 shows sounds very interesting. Songs like Out Ta Get Me and My Michelle got more energy than they got during the UYI-tour. But also most of the 1991 shows are amazing 8) St. Louis, Toronto (You're Crazy feat. Bach), Inglewood, Mannheim etc.. Paris and Chicago 1992 are fucking great too.

Im interested in VHS bootleg from Australia 1988 or tokyo 1988 or the Argentina 1993 show w/ acoustic set, assuming VHS boots exist for these shows. I dont have much to trade though, ST Louis 1991 DVD,Chicago 1992 DVD(2 discs), Chicago 2002 DVD,Ritz1988DVD,Indiana1991 DVD, VHS tape with assorted footage including complete ritz 88 MTV  broadcast GNR Rockumentary, local news story titled"don't you come home Bill Bailey", and other various stuff I cant really remember, oh yeah like interviews with the artist who did original appetite cover and GNR members at his art exhibit

Maybe not the best quality, but the band sounds great and the audience is wonderful :peace:

i have that show and yeap! it s great...one of my best bootlegs.... the audience is fantastic! i think Axl said something like "you people are louder than 140000 Brazilians!! thank you"... amazing show ...

i have almost everything that was mentioned previous... although that the marquee 87 show is only 4-5 tracks ...anyway..

my best bootleg generally is the rare bootleg...something with maybe not the best quality but with some rare things or very difficult to find etc...:)

so ,im my collection my best piece is the VHS from 1990 (i think its 9th of November 1990) , at the Palladium in Hollywood...  this was a RIP Magazine's Anniversary and they had a special night with the GAK band : Gak Band was Axl, Slash, Duff, Sebastian Bach, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield and Krik Hammet!!!!!!!

They played "You are crazy", "From whom the bell tolls", "Piece of me", "Hair of the dog", and "Whiplash"! Axl sang "Hair of the dog" and "Piece of me".... There was a lot of stage diving and other crazy stuff!!! i love that video

as for a Gnr concert,  my best is from 18 Jan 1986 at Roxy! it s unbelievable that this video exists!  ;D ;D ;D it s before AFD was released, the playlist is so good :

Reckless Life, Shadow of your love, WTTJ, Jumping Jack Flash, Think about you, Move to the city, Dont cry(!!!!!!!), Nice boys, Back off bitch (!!!!!), Rocket Queen, Nightrain, My Michelle, Paradise city, Anything goes, Mama kin, Heartbreak Hotel, Goodnight Tonight!!!

It s awasome to see how that band played their shows, so much energy, they are so young..it s funny to see Dont cry and Back Off Bitch was on the playlist so much time before the Illusions!  and it s very rare to have a video with "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Shadow of your love"... also "Anything goes" has alternative lyrics than the one tha exists on AFD!!!! Mot to mention that Paradise city, WTTJ, Nightrain are kind of different than the AFD versions!! i really love that show

another rare video i have is from 19 June 1991, Capitol Center , MD USA . This is before St Louis - and Axl jumps into the crowd during Civil War because a security guard was beating up a fan!!!!

Best perfomance of GNR?? i think it s the LA FORUM 1991 4 hours show tha  mentioned above....

Metrodome - Minneapolis, MN in 1992 is, in my opinion, the best old era concert (among the audience recordings), and best version EVER of November Rain. I could cut my 2 arms off to have a SBD version of that show.

As GN'R were coming on stage for their encore, someone in the audience lights up fireworks, which pisses off the band and makes them end the show. Thus, no encore.

------

Maybe the best performance of Nice Boys, ever. Great show overall. Definitely one of the best from the US-leg of Skin n' Bones -tour. Very good.

Metrodome - Minneapolis, MN in 1992 is, in my opinion, the best old era concert (among the audience recordings), and best version EVER of November Rain. I could cut my 2 arms off to have a SBD version of that show.

Hi estebanf, What would be the full date for this particualr show, Metrodome - Minneapolis, MN in 1992???...

First GNR boot I ever bought and still my favorite:

Some Kinda Orange

It's also listed as Rock 'N' Roll Suicide

The raw energy from this show is unbelieveable.  Best version of Nightrain EVER!   : ok:
