whats the deal with weezer?

im not here to talk about them, or their talents as a band-

i was reading about their new video on mtv's web-site, and at the bottom it said that the video would not be shown in the U.S, and only in International markets.

i remembered that weezer did the same thing for their song "hashpipe" on their last album- and in the states it was called "halfpipe"     why do they do that?  is that the bands decision ...or other corporate intrests?  does it have to do with both songs having a common drug theme. (especially in the name )

the new video they shot is the band's own choice, they're gonna have different videos for the US and the rest of the world (the reason is in an article on Mtv.com).

I dont like Weezer, however their new song is the exception to the rule, their new one fucking rocks.
The video is pretty cool too, its an 80's power metal throwback video, long haired bearded vinkingish blokes, throwing thier leather clad fists into the air.\m/
I've seen it as i am in England! One of the good points of living here apparently.

Finally listened to that track dude and it's not bad better than all their other stuff i love that Give It To Me line just really gives that 80s feel to it....i'm yet to see the video though haven't watched Kerrang or Scuzz in ages.

Upon seeing this video for the first time, I thought to myself  'Damn, they've done an amazing job of re-creating one of those silly Power Metal videos' (similar to the the re0creation of the Happy Days vibe for 'Buddy Holly'). Then I found out that it is just a re-edited version of Grim Reaper's 'Fear no Evil' video. My bad

'Hash Pipe' was censored by a few TV and Radio stations in the UK as well.

Hash Pipe wasn't censored here in Canada........I wish it was, I hate that song...........and Weezer too, but that's not what you guys wanna talk about.
