Spiraling up through the crack in the skye...

Has anybody heard of what's going on with former RATM man Zack?  Is he holed up with Axl somewhere?

Well he's done two songs of late - one is available direct from zachdelarocha.com the other was on the soundtrack for Farenheir 9/11 (haven't heard that one)

Why the hell its been 5 years and he can't put out an album is one of those little mystery's - about 2 years ago i might have even cared....

People say the exact same thing about GNR... I think RATM created enough of an impact that people will still remember Zack in a few years.

I hope so - but Axl has somehwere between 60-80 million album sales to remind people - RATM have about 10 million worldwide, he can't afford to 'do an Axl'

I don't think that they ever really got along, so the fact that they lasted as long as they did is a miracle.

from looking at their sales at riaa, Ive concluded that they have sold 10 million in USA alone. probably around 25-30 million worldwide, cos they were pretty big over here in Europe!

Some people just don't know how to ride a bike

« Reply #16 on: July 30, 2005, 02:39:14 AM »

last i heard was that he did a song with dj shadow.

he's also been a guest rapper on some KRS-One tracks and some other tracks with various rappers

but that was ages ago.

I think RATM broke up because they realized they weren't achieving their political aims that they had set out too. So they thought "fuck it" we'll release one last album where its all about the music (Battle for Los Angeles) and then call it quits.

They realized most people listen to RATM for the music, not for the political message so they just tried to make the best music they could and end it there.

Don't quote me on that, i just remembered reading it somewhere.

Do you mean Renegades? They were still about the politics when Battle of Los Angeles came out...

I never really listened to Renegades, but I believe it's all covers, so that would make sense for "not being political".
