i've just bought a DVD lightscribe drive, and was wandering, as writing on the discs is a BIG no no, are lightscribe with images burned to them acceptable?

I think it's similar to people writing on the DVDs. I wouldn't want mine with lightscribe unless I did it myself.

speaking from a personal note, when i get a new trade the first thing i do is make a back up copy, so i dont care whats written on it to tell you the truth as i burn back ups anyway. everyone is different though and people have their own way of doing things. if i really wanted a show as a trade then i dont see the big deal about a third party writing on the disc or adding a pic as its easily overcome

but your backup disc will be a CD-R (1), not a CD-R

As wadey said, it depends. Personally, i have similar approach as cotis, i just don't want anything to be written on dvd's i'm goin' to receive, but for some traders it might've been even better to have some nice artwork on their discs. U should talk about that kinda stuff before every trade, thats for sure. Greetings mate.
