How many copies of the album will you buy?

ONe dont see the point in buying more than one. I only have one copy of Appetite and the rest so(except the GH dont have it) why buy more than one copy.

1 copy. A band has already "sold" the copies once they're in the record store. The soundscan numbers you see that make up the album charts are based on shipments to record stores and how many copies are ordered by retailers. Tell people the record kicks ass and recommend it if you like it, but to buy several copies for people only helps your pockets get empty faster.

I'll probably buy more than one copy. I know I'm going to buy one for me and one for my girlfriend. If there is different versions, I will buy them all. I've never done that with any other band and considering this is the biggest release (for me) in my life, I won't mind. BTW, I'm not buying a few copies to help put money in Axl's pocket, he's got enough money as it is. I'm buying them because this is my favorite band and I'm giving at least one or maybe two away. Plus to say that buying a few copies doesn't help sales, is wrong. When the copies that a store has run out, what do they do next?? ORDER MORE.  I would never do it to help out sales anyway, that would be pathetic if we all bought a bunch of copies trying to help sales.? It would seem like we didn't have any faith in the band to sell copies of the album on their own.

Not quite, what you see on the shelf is usually a very small part of said albums quantity at that particular store, especially when it's a band with GN'R's status. When it comes to a band of such magnitude, you don't "run out" of copies.

i'll burn a copy for the car and work. i WON'T burn copies for my friends. if they want it , they can buy it, or find somewhere to download it themselves.

Does anyone ever get the same exact gift from a particular person every Xmas?  Something like a flashlight or whatnot, and it kind of becomes a recurring joke?  I think I may do that with CD.  My loved ones can expect CD as a stocking stuffer every year, or until the next album comes out anyway.

If the album comes out before christmas (which it sounds like it might) I will probably buy 4-5 copies for gifts, in addition to the one I get for myself.  It also depends on if there are any special editions available at certain stores.
