Honestly, I found the site thats "hosting" it while looking for something else....and then went poking around to see whatelse was there.  And that's when I found the kid.  And I agree..funny as fuck.

Wasn't Buckethead asked at the music awards if he was still in the band and he nodded? And yet we hear he left a year ago with no news of his departure?

Confusing

Hang on a second!!! As foR these b/s 'management emails'......if he left in early 2003, can someone xplain why HE ONLY ADDED THE GNR BOARD TO HIS SITE IN 2004?Huh!!!

Not true. The gnr board at bucket's site has been around for much longer, at least as far back as 2002. It was taken down several days ago, but it was there for quite a while.

Undetered, I sent the following E-mail to Greg, the site's Webmaster...His E-mail, oddly enough, is greg@bucketheadland.com

I'm afraid your efforts are a bit misguided (through no fault of your own) since the bucketboard moderator is the same person as the webmaster of buckethead's "official" site. Greg and Rupert are the same person. You'll never get a straight answer out of him, nevermind the fact that he seems to enjoy being a prick to bucket's fans, or the fact that he often knows less than the fans do.

MTV Brazil reported he was out in 2001 and obviously they were wrong... Id belive the american MTV over most websites but i still dont belive this report that hes gone... who said it? there is no name for the manager to back up the story.. If i had his email i would like to mail the man who reported this story...
Hey dudes... I am brazilian and I am sure that MTV  Brasil don't know a shit about anything... they just really know about pop bands...

Axl must be fuming, i feel sorry for the guy, he must be under so much pressure at the moment, from the label, us the fans, all this greatest hits legal crap! and now members of his own band. Something has to give in the near future, so much is happening in the world of Guns n Roses its only a matter of time.

Its refreshing to hear someone express some empathy for what Axl might be going through

The 'he brought it on himself' arguement assumes too much that we dont know.  I'd just as soon go with my gut feelings... and belief in Axl's good intentions.

Oh, brother, now I've heard it all. Poor, poor Axl, it must be sooooo hard being Axl, I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight because poor, poor Axl has it so rough, lets all hold a big PITY PARTY for poor, poor Axl.  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

ahem...

empathy - Identification with and understanding of another's situation, feelings, and motives

even the word sympathy does not simply equate with "feeling sorry for someone"  It can be used to express "a feeling of loyalty; allegiance"

Both of the above is what I was expressing... and can be read in the original poster's sentiments as well.

Everything is not black or white ya know.
If so  - then what if i said that you envy Axl and the position he is in.
Well do ya?

i don't envy him, i admire him. i think none of us can imagine what it's like having the pressure of the world on his shoulders. he should do it right and take his time, i'm sure that we will see results eventually that will exceed everyone's expaectations. he said it himself in an interview, he won't give into pressure now as he did with the "illusions". chew on that one. imagine the results.

Let's just hope MTVNEWS is wrong.  I say it's about a 50/50 chance since there has been so much rumor about Buckethead having a huge ego like Axl's.  I guess we'll know by RIR4.  I just wish the concert was sooner!

Honestly, I made the first post on it about a month or so ago, then a few others joined in until there were about 15 threads. Then all of a sudden, my first post, which was a massive big up of the new songs, the tour, my expectations for Rio and how much faith I had in New GnR....the post vanished. Then the board was removed. Now unless nobody posted on the board through the whole of 2003 or it was cleared early this year before I posted, then it was a recent addition.

I think its amusing to hear these people cry about BH leaving...about him being "irreplacable" or whatever.

Why do they think that way?  So far, all BH has proven to the world is that he can adequately perform in a GnR tribute band.(the last tour being pretty much a tribute to the old GnR material, that is.)  No need to kill the melodrama and bring you back down to Earth...but according to what BH has given us and showed us, his loss isn't all that great.

There are thousands and thousands of guitarists out there who could adequately handle the job of playing in a GnR tribute band...which is pretty much all BH accomplished during his stint in GnR.  Maybe BH had something "more" to offer us on CD...but maybe he didn't.  The fact is, we'll probably never know.  Whatever music he may have put down for the album, Paxil-boy is most likely sure to destroy.

And I hope he does.  I want the album to have Guns N' Roses playing on it, whoever Guns N' Roses may be at the time of its release.  I hope he rerecorded Buckethead's parts if Bucket is truly gone.

Maybe I'm not as anxious as all of you, though.  We've waited a long time anyway, I've got stuff to do, the VR album will be out soon, I've got no problem waiting a bit more for CD.

edit:  ...I'm going to really miss Buckethead.

I know what you're saying, but the confusion lies with the moderator/webmaster of the board and site. It's all set up with fucking html, so it's not like replies bump a thread back to the top of the list. It just gets added onto the board as they appear. So what happens is if the board gets filled with too many posts, Greg/Rupert just chops off the old threads from the bottom, even though people are still replying to them. You'll notice the same thing on the main buckethead board. old threads just get truncated from the bottom, and they are in effect lost forever. if you'll notice the board now it only contains threads from Marcg 11, 2004 till today. so all the thousands of posts that came before it all those years are long gone. all the information is long gone. it's a stupid ass way to run a board, but that's the way it's done.

the thing about the gnr board on buckethead's site is that it wasn't very active anyway. so whenever people posted, if it got too old, it just got cut out, so when you saw it it probably only had the posts from whatever month it was that you saw it. That's probably why it looked new to you. Not your fault, it's just the way they run things. If you look at the bucketboard it'd look like it was only set up last week if you go by the dates. bad design, i say.

Jesus fucking christ, i cant believe this still hasnt been confirmed by GNR yet, absolutely ridiculous!

Id prefer it if it was confirmed rather than just an MTV article. At least that way we know and can speculate on who will replace the chicken coop beast.

Another Sad week in GNR history......
