Hi,

I am planning to buy a new Epiphone LP Standard, but don't know what pups to use... Should I buy Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II's for both neck and bridge or should i leave bridge stock? Can someone recommend another bridge pickup?

Also, Since i come from a remote area, I don't trust the local luthiers with replacing the pups ( I don't think they've heard of a LP at all...) Can i change the pickups myself or will i fuck it up? Huh

Mics that kick ass:

Di marzio evolution

SD alnico pro II

SD 59

you sould listen them by yourself, start with audio samples from some websites, then when you have 2 or 3 in mind, go to a store !

tip: there are lots of ibanez models with dimarzio evolution, just in case you know about an ibanez dealer and want to listen to that mic

I have a duncan distortion in the bridge and an alnico pro in the neck...never looked back great for gnr tone. old metallica pretty much anything like ac/dc. you can shred with them play jazzy stuff. those 2 pickups cover pretty much every style i want
