dave is amazing to watch compared to bon jovi, who yes is a good vocalist, doesnt own the stage like dave.

In terms of range, I'll concede JBJ is a better singer. But that doesn't really make him a better singer. I'll take Roth's bluesy, charismatic flat-tire vocals over the Michael Bolton styling of JBJ any day of the week. Also don't forget Sammy Hagar, who's technically as good a singer as JBJ, but doesn't sound as corny or contrived. Although I will further concede that there are some shitty songs like "Why Can't This Be Love" that are about as bad as anything from Bon Jovi.

Roth was a clown with his gay outfits and stupid karate kickin shit but Jon Destroys his audiences with his performances.

The videos I've seen of Bon Jovi from the 80s aren't too flattening. JBJ had the spandex, teased hair, lipstick, just like everyone else.

Jon is a far better musician and singer than Roth.

At making candy-ass fluff, sure.

Richie is underrated as a guitar player and isnt too far behind EVH.

 

BJ have more hits, more album sales and overall better songs.

BJ have sold 120 million albums world-wide, VH is at 80 million. And I agree that BJ has better songs, if you like pussafied, milk-toast.

"Jump" was inspired by Dave watching a guy threaten to jump off a building. Lyrically, not the most creative song in the world, but I like it. It's a song about taking chances, living life to the fullest, totally non-pretentious.
