I loved Futurama, it showed Groening still had "it." What made the show great in my eyes is that it had heart (which the Simpsons lost long ago). The episode where Fry learns about his brothers life after he was frozen was moving, and the end of the Dog episode still stands as the saddest thing I have ever seen on TV.? Cry There's no shame in it brahs...

the Simpsons however is infinietly watchable - hell, i must have seen 90% of the episodes atleast 100 times

well since there are 378 episodes of the simpsons and 90% would be around 340.. and you have seen those at least 100 times.. that would be over 34000 episodes of the simpsons.. pretty impressive, do you have a life outside of that show?.. since every episode is around half an hour 34000/2=17000 hours.. i maybe wrong now.. but that would be around 708 days in a row, 24 hours a day only watching the simpsons...

maybe i have made a few wrongs in this.. but it's around there ok

I did try to work out the time i'd spent watching the simpsons - and that figure of 100 viewings per epsiode is no joke either - each episode viewed 10 times a year - for well over a decade....

and no, i have no life outside the simpsons Lips Sealed

The man exaggerated to make his point. And I doubt a mathematical breakdown was needed in order to make that obvious...

actully no - i was telling the truth....

Its always on just as i get back from work, and even after so many viewings so many episodes are still pure gold

My sole claim to fame in life is an ability to identify an episode within 10 seconds of it beginning

me sad? Well obviously - otherwise i wouldn't be on a gnr message board hihi

the simpsons used to be on sky for something in the region of 23 hours per week for a good for or five years. I often watched all of them. Thats 46 episodes a week. Often (6 or 7 times a year) they would spend entire days or weekends showing it too.

I think izzy's figure is probably a bit exagerated but certainly not impossible. I'd say i've seen the first 250 or so episodes on average atleast 30 or 40 times each. Spread out over nearly fifteen years of watching it may actually be more.

When season 4 started in the US a mate of mine downloaded the episodes weekly coz we didnt get it here in australia for ages after it started. Anyway when the season 4 dvd was released it was only half the episodes. The next dvd comes out here next month with the rest of the episodes so is that called season 5 or 4 part 2? anyone know?
