Going to see them in Glasgow on Friday. Almost 20 years since they last performed. PiL was always the more emotional & creative side of Lydon whereas the Pistols was more about sticking 2 fingers up at the vile situation that was happening at the time.

Anyone else going?

I was thinking about making a thread on them. I've gone back to their first album recently. Some good stuff on there. Fodderstompf is a highly amusing song. "We only wanted to finish the album with the minimum amount of effort which we are now doing very successfuleee" Grin

Radio 4 from Metal Box is also a really good piece of music. Nice and soothing. Smiley

I'm not a big enough fan to go see them live though. I probably wouldn't know most of the songs...

If they came out my way, I would go see them for sure.

PiL is absolutely brilliant.

Check out their television interviews from when they first started.  Hilarity.

You mean that one where they are being pricks on purpose? Some funny stuff, but comes across really contrived, if its the one ive seen anyway.

That's quality. Can't wait for tomorrow. What did you use to film with by the way? Sound is really clear.

Well, his voice is actually really strong. Doing what he does, for just over 2hrs 15mins is pretty good going.

Aye judging from that clip & the rehearsal stuff that was on tv & the PiL site, it sounds a lot stronger than it was on the last Pistols tour. What did you record with mate? It's really good sound quality.

I'm not sure what I recorded with. It was just a pocket digital camera (a Canon I believe). It's a couple of years old, it's an 8mp. Sorry to be vague, usually I'm aware of what I'm using, just I wasn't planning on taking anything other than my phone (because I didn't want to risk security taking my Nikon DSLR off of me) and my Dad chucked it at me before I left.

For the record, security isn't very tight. Perhaps it was just Leeds, I dunno, but no one appeared to be bothered. Smiley

By "it" I mean "presence", I could give a rats ass about lack of voice technique..

Agreed, he does all these weird high notes.

Lacks alot of the aggression also of Sex Pistols.

I do like Rise, by PIL though.

That love song is an example of his voice becoming annoying with PIL.
