This album is good but its very generic. The only stand out tune in my opinion is Fall to Pieces.

A year later and I'll finally post my review.  I really don't listen to the album anymore.  I loved it for the first month or two it was out, then it wore down on me.  The songs really didn't stick.  I enjoyed Spectacle the most and Fall To Pieces or Dirty Little Thing the least.  All in all the album wasn't memorable to me, but it was good to see a decent rock album come out for the time being.

Tonight I put in Contraband and just listened to it for what it was.  I forgot about the hype, or over play on songs like fall to peices....

I ENJOY IT MORE NOW THEN EVER.  IT ROCKS.  EVERYSONG HAS GOOD QUALITIES FOR ME.  FALL TO PIECES SOUNDS a lot better now then it did when it was a hit!  You Got No Right is an amazing song.....pure brilliance!  Superhuman has more of a nuGNR type feel to it.  I like Headspace a lot, it rocks!

Contraband is a solid rock record from start to finish, there's not one song that I'd skip on there and I can't say that about a lot of albums.

Finally bought the album used for $8.99 plus tax.

Stone Temple Pilots + Slash's Snakepit = Velvet Revolver.

Contraband = 5/10 (Average)

fall to pieces (even tho it kinda ripped off yesterdays) and slither were the only tracks worth listening to over and over again.

82/100

Good album, but the songs similarities kind of make it from becoming great. Hell, Superhuman is my favorite song on this thing but even that sounds too damn similar to half the songs on this thing. Is that a bad thing? Kind of. All the band members seem too cocky on this album as well.

All in all it was pretty damn good, so bring on Libertad.

I love the whole album... every song on Contraband is damn good...

My favorite song and I always think of that and sings it in my head is BigMachine, what an incredible simple song.

I agree with you about Big Machine being incredible and simple.. People were slagging on it before because it was simple..  Why can't a great rock song be simple? There are tons!

The first two singles. Hmmm...

Put some time into the album and you'll realise that there are plenty of tracks the equal of Slither and that Fall To Pieces (while easily accessible and radio-friendly) is actually one of the weaker tunes on Contraband.
