01 new songs VS the new 06 songs

01 songs:
Madagascar
Chinese Democracy
The Blues

06 songs:
Better
IRS
TWAT

I didnt choose to include Rhiad and Silkworms since they both seem to have been moved to the backburner for now. Anyway ... I feel the songs we heard in 01 impressed me more than the leaks. I dont know if it was the excitement of hearing some new GNR music or not, but they struck me instantly and have stayed with me since. The 06 leaks took a while to grow on me and they still dont speak as loudly to me. Im not saying the new ones are bad, I just feel that what we got in the 01 tour was stronger than what we get from the leaks.

Also, this is not to say that the band has been off in 06 - both sets of songs are very quality. I think its purely a subjective choice in this case as much as ever.

not sure wether i agree, axls voices is 10000 times better than 2001/2002 and robins improved a lot

The songs and solos are way better now, but regarding the actual songs, I prefer the '01 ones.

I like the 06 songs, i think theyre just better songs, that doesnt mean the 01 songs are bad, just not as good.
