Giuliani, United States.

No doubt.

I agree. Some people, not all mind you, vote Obama for no other reason than the fact that he's different. It's not even based on his political experience or views.

You justfied it yourself when you said Democrats offer no solution to Iraq because (in your opinion) there is no working solution.  Obama has offered nothing of any issues that define a candidate.  He uses rhetoric and vague language.  What is his stance on gay marriage?  Gun Control?  Education? Health Care? Securing the border? etc. and etc.  Obama serves as a pretty face who may in time prove to be a worthy candidate but has never been underfire or done anything to deserve all this addoration.  Rather than telling us that Obama is a great candidate booker, care to explain why you think so?  Especially when stacked against Hillary and Edwards.

SLCpunk, you need to do some research.  It's a well-known fact that our country was built by non-homosexuals.  It was only very recently that the gay interests succeeded in changing the official name of our country to the United States...yes, it used to be the United Straights of America, but dammit those gays are mighty sneaky!

You justfied it yourself when you said Democrats offer no solution to Iraq because (in your opinion) there is no working solution.? Obama has offered nothing of any issues that define a candidate.? He uses rhetoric and vague language.? What is his stance on gay marriage?? Gun Control?? Education? Health Care? Securing the border? etc. and etc.? Obama serves as a pretty face who may in time prove to be a worthy candidate but has never been underfire or done anything to deserve all this addoration.? Rather than telling us that Obama is a great candidate booker, care to explain why you think so?? Especially when stacked against Hillary and Edwards.

Simply not true.

LOL, and do you really think gay marriage is an "issue."? hihi

Is gay marriage an issue I care for?? Not in the slightest.? But to deny its value to the American public is out right deceitful.? That very issue was an important factor in 2004.? America's opinion on the issue hasn't changed and it will be brought up next year.? Just because you want to ignore that Obama is against gay marriage doesn't mean the general public will.? But nice way to avert the question at hand.? I say again, what are Obama's stances on the issue of the day and one liners like hope and change won't cut it.

Edit:  In fact, Booker didn't want to include Giuliani in the candiate list because he thought Giuliani's stance on homosexuality would hurt his electability.  Far leftist like yourself aren't going to win the election.  Most people can talk about Bush without spit and spattle flying out of their mouths.

Obama's says he's not for gay marriage due to his religious belief but is for a compromise with Civil Unions. In my opinion in 2004 gay marrage was a huge issue in the mid-west states and is what got loads of right wing christian extremists out to vote for bush because in the midst of everything Bush was addmittley saying whereever he went that he was for a ban on gay marriage. And that alone was a huge impact in a state like Ohio.

I am not homosexual, but gay mariage or basic civil rights for homosexuals is some what of a hot issue for me. I support Obama for different reasons but I do believe Civil Unions are a step in the right direction. To me they have every right to the pursue everything anybody else wants.

Obama has wide political views on a variety of different subjects. And seems, based on his short record of what hes tried to do, is very strong on improving education, gun control, a more socialistic health care system and forigien relations. Which these general things can be attached to almost any candiate. But if you do a little research on Obama you will find the ways he says he wants institute such changes are drastically different than other candiates. Now I, like anyone else, could sit here and type out every reason as to why I like Obama but i'm not gonna do that. I've read alot about this man and other candiates, so I feel anybody else can do that to.

I feel strongly that though he may not be elected in 08, Barrack Obama, will be the first black president.? smoking

Well, a person with half a brain would simply type in "Obama" and get his home page-where they can read, in detail his stances. Sadly being lazy, and listening to people like you is why America has gotten to the pathetic state it is in today.

Yup, that's an Axl4Prez2004 original.  Thanks...if you're serious.

So was, "I could hear the tears in her eyes," to MCT's chagrin. (poor writing from an earlier post made fun of by MCT)   hihi

I hope SLCPUNK realized I was poking fun of the rampant homophobia that exists in the US.
Obama's stance is perfect.  Civil unions.  Same rights.  Different name, not marriage, even though I think it's silly, it should bring some calm to the battle.  In another 10 or 20 years, as the old farts kick the bucket, and younger more progressive voters enter the fray, we can reach for that rainbow and move forward...etc., etc.  How cool is that???

Edit:  In fact, Booker didn't want to include Giuliani in the candiate list because he thought Giuliani's stance on homosexuality would hurt his electability.

It has nothing to do with what I "wanted," I simply didnt think he would become a viable primary contender when I wrote it over 4 months ago.  Homosexuality was only one of many issues I considered and, as Ive said, Republicans have surprised me with how much theyre willing to sacrifice their principles to become more competitive.  I still dont see Giuliani winning the nomination, but I no longer think its impossible.

Again, if you pulled your head out of the sand you'd have realized that

1.) Moderate Democrats were elected - not the leftist you tout

2.) The Democrats win was expected, and was the 2nd worst showing for a 6th year election during any president in the 20th/21st century.? In case your college drop out mind can't grasp this point, the opposition party to the President always seems to take Congress in the 6th year election.? Compare the number of seats won this election with other elections historically at this juncture and tell me again how you kicked my ass.

You couldn't make a coherent argument on your own if your life depended on it.? You continue to talk the same old bullshit time and time again.? As you said, even a broken clock is right two times a day.? What about your 2004 elections?? You were pretty far off there.? Even the blind squirrel gets a nut every once and a while, and with a century of patterns, looks like you were right - for once.

Just as a point, you might want to check some history on this one.  The fact is that this election, when compared with other elections, didn't have as much OPPORTUNITY for Dems to take seats as the elections you're using for comparison...largely because the "marjoity" margin was so thin...and on the senate side there were less Republican incumbants this round to defeat.   Look at the %, rather than the strict # of seats, and you'll see something rather startling....

If Repubs adopt the attitude you are (and I've no doubt they are NOT), it's going to be a very rough time for them in '08.  CLEARLY there was a mandate for change from the American people because at almost every opportunity, they chose the dem over the repub.

"deservingly so?" ?tell me what has he done that makes him DESERVE the presidency?, by the way I see alot of you guys getting pretty pumped up over Obama...which is cool...but let me tell you something you probably already know...the White House is YOURS FOR THE TAKING....With Bush's approval rating so low and the countries view of the republican party in the toilet...it is yours for the taking...but wait...what are you guys going to do? run a minority or a woman!! only the democrats can be stupid enough to blow this thing in 08, and if you run either of them you will in fact probably lose.. it is amazing how you guys have only won 2 elections in the past 30 YEARS with strategic thinking like that...be smart and run Edwards.....you already have the majority of the country in your corner..why in the world would you want to test them to see if they are ready for a minority or a woman president?
