My summer schedule is looking very uneventful so I was wondering if there are any good concerts the gnr fans were going to over the summer (preferably around the NYC/Long Island area) that I could crash. I'm sick of my friends having all the fun stories  Tongue

Thanks 2 those who went 2 Mustang Harry's on May 12th. That made my first concert experience something I'll never forget. Never did I feel like I fit in anywhere as much as I did amongst you strangers

The Raconteurs are playing the last of three NYC dates tonight but it's sold out. Saw them on Friday and they were awesome. If you're on Long Island you have the whole Jones Beach season coming up

I get all the emails for the tri-state area and frankly the summer schedule has been looking pretty grim this year.

Only show I saw so far was Van Halen.

Deep Purple in London at the end of July  ok

Possibly Ricky Gervais in New York, mid-July - haven't got tickets yet though

Your Dad likes NIN? That's pretty awesome.

This summer so far on my itinerary: George Michael and the Crue.

I'm going to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers next week and Def Leppard in August.  Maybe Poison and/or Motley Crue.  We'll see.

Yeah, my Dad thinks they're awesome, plus the fact that Robin is going to be performing with them pretty much sealed the deal for the both of us Smiley

He has a really open mind when it comes to music, and will give anything a chance as long as it's played at a reasonable volume.

Hell, if I can get him into Tool, I don't think there's anything he wouldn't listen to Wink

Oh, so he's pretty young. When Pretty Hate Machine was out, he was under 30...

Yeah, but my Dad was more into U2, Billy Joel, Styx, etc back then though.

I managed to turn him into a huge Gn'R fan a few weeks before the May 12th Hammerstein show, and ever since then, he loves the sweet sounds of Rock n' Roll Wink

Cool. My kid thinks she is in the 80's, thinks most new music sucks and goes to most of my concerts with me, including Jax Fl GnR show.
