I think as long as the chemistry and talent is there, 2 person bands arent a step down from a 5 person band at all. If anything the writing aspects would be much more intimate and enjoyable than butting skulls with 3 other people who might not like/appreciate your contribution to a song.

ClintroN, I dont think u realise a solo artist isnt a one man band. He/she/it has other members to play instruments. U try and play two guitars at the same time (one 4 lead and one for rhythm), bass, drums, vocals, and/or keyboards.  hihi

I'm totally down with piano in rock.  And keyboards in metal are pretty badass too?  Anybody ever hear Children Of Bodom?  The keyboard adds so much to that band.

No problem with pianos, but keyboards sometimes get OTT.  I think Dizzy could make some interesting touches to CD if it ever gets done, I like what he does on track 7 on Village Gorilla Head (Stinson's solo album).
