I'm sure alot of you have already heard/known about this but for those who haven't check this shit out.  If you listen to Stairway to Heaven backwards at the bustle in the hedgerow lyric.  Here's the link...also check out the Brittany Spears one.....it's fucking hilarious. If you don't believe use Window audio recorder and sing the verse then play it backwards.  I tried it, it works.  Anyhow we all know Page's obsession with the occult so I basically think it was intentional, maybe as a joke or whatnot.

I once found a website that said Stairway to Heaven had many Christian elements in the lyrics. In reverse, it would make sense for it to be Satanic. Well hidden messages or not, that song is genious!  : ok:

I remember many many moons ago someone mentioned that if you play the beginning of patience backwards there's some weird phrase. It was the bit where Duff says 1,2,1,2,3,4. I think it said something like please help me or something like that?

I don't know which Pink Floyd one you're talking about, but there's at least a couple of intentionally placed backwards messages on them.

On Roger Water's Amused to Death (I think it was that album), there's a backwards message where he rips on Frank Lloyd Wright, who PF claims ripped off some of their music to use in one of his operas.

The Pink Floyd one is genuine.  I had read about it a few years back in a book that talks about whether backward messages really exist.

Another famous one is "Revolution 9" by the Beatles.  Allegedly, John Lennon's saying "Number Nine" repeatedly in the song comes out as "Turn me on dead man" when played backward.

Well I'm not afraid of Satan anymore as I listened too much to Diamond and Danzig, those guys are very creepy, anyway excellent song and now that I've heard it backwards is better yet, I hope people don't be scared of satan or whatever u call it, he's the coolest thing ever  ;), remeber that's why we sin  : ok:

On one Pink Floyd song it apparently says 'congratulations, you have discovered the secret message' (that was done on purpose) and one Another One Bites The Dust by Queen it unintensionally says 'Smoke marijuana' or summat like that.

Update: In this mag I'm reading it says in Goodbye Blue Sky by Pink Floyd, when played backwards you get 'congratulations, you have just discovered the secret message'. And in Baby One More Time by Britney it sounds like it says 'Sleep with me, I'm not too young'. And in Another One Bites The Dust by Queen it sounds like it says 'It's fun to smoke marijuana'. And in Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by Ac/Dc it sounds like it says 'Yeah, I'm the Nazi. Ooh, and I love it! Who the fuck are you?' Plus in I Am Tired by The Beatles it sounds like it says 'Paul is dead now. Miss him, miss him, miss him!'  :confused:

well, It was 4 pm in the morning and sudenly I remembered about somesaying that if you played it backwards you?d hear some satanic message, so I tried it and it really had.
So I did have a lot of time in my hands, and then I had a nightmare involving a cassete running after me and shouting:Ohhh myyy sweet satan!!with a creppy kind-of-old-lady voice.

I've heard it in context with other thing and...Jesus (Maybe not the most apt word).

Seriously, this isn't the "Satan" or the "Kill" that could vaguely be made out if you played Judas Priest backwards at midnight with a monkey on your back.

Play the verse the above fool mentioned backwards and it is...Incredibly weird. Read a transcription is well.

The weirdest thing is that, if you're reading a transcription of what most people make out, it is very continuos. It isn't like the word 'Satan', then a mess, then the word ' death'.

You can get programs all over the shop with a transcription, and the verses forwards and then backwards in the song.

Google it.

But it's worth checking out, because it is genuinly...Spooky.

PMRC = Parents Music Resource Center.  It was headed by Tipper Gore and some other lame senator's wife in the mid 80s.  (note: this was before Al Gore became VP and ran for Prez). 

The PMRC's first goal was to get music censored that was "not suitable" for children.  They finally "settled" for labels putting "generic stickers" on the album that says "Parental Advisory, Explicit Lyrics". 

The problem with this is that several music outlets (such as Wal-Mart) won't sell stickered albums.  And since that is where a lot of people buy their music, they aren't able to buy these albums.  The alternative has been making "censored" albums with parts of the lyrics dubbed out.

In an interview, I believe Axl estimated that this cut their album sales by 50%.  I'm not sure it was cut that drastically, but it definitely had an impact. 

ha, i read a story about ozzy and sharon sharing a table at a charity dinner with tipper gore a while back, sharon said she was lovely, kinda ironic seeing as she wanted ozzy jailed for making kids commit suicide in the 80's

I have an interview where Slash says "Thanks Tipper... bitch." or something very similar. They talk more about the PMRC in there, but I don't remember what was said.

When I was in High School (before the internet) I took a casette tape of Stairway To Heaven and cut out the  part we are talking about and taped it in backwards, I heard the same thing, sounds like he says  "my sweet satan". THey probrally figured out how to do this in the studio to create a mystique for the song,  and I`m sure they got a laugh or two watching the christian fundamentalists freak out about it.
